    Bring Madden back to PC

Madden was a good game when it was on PC. Many people want to see Madden back. I loved 08 and sometimes like to try it again. I was sad that it just didnt have NCAA to go along with it.

That's probably EA's excuse anyway. Just like "piracy" is the reason for DRM and whatever...nevermind there's still piracy even with DRM and whatever.

I know we have several threads that talk about this stuff.

DRM is about reducing piracy. Origin and Steam CERTAINLY reduce the piracy of games greatly. Does piracy still happen? Yeah, you bet. But it's far less than if a game didn't use a platform such as that.

Piracy isn't the issue in this. Perhaps it was in 2008 and it was the reason Madden was pulled from the PC. But today, I'm sure it's more about demand. The PC market for Madden is small and shrinking. The Madden PC community is loyal, fierce, but tiny.

Now add to this the notion that the PC is the only platform where a developer cannot guarantee the gamer's experience. PC specs, drivers, compatible hardware, input devices, etc. EA cannot guarantee a single experience like they can on the Wii, 360, or even the iPad. If they bring Madden to the PC, it means dealing with all those headaches. Combine that with the comparatively small PC demand for Madden, and one can see why Tiburon just has no interest in bringing Madden back to the PC. For Madden and NCAA, the negatives far outweigh the positives.

All those excuses and yet FIFA 12, NBA 2K12 and MLB 2K12 are awesome on the PC.. How many MORE excuses do we have to endure before we get a quality product from the monopoly?

Simple, question - WHY NOT bring Madden back to the PC? Your above answer mean little when the games just mentioned continue to be released for the platform.

You do know how far PCs have come don't you? Current PCs are far ahead of the current consoles and even many developers around the next gen consoles even believe the PC will be well beyond them too by the time they come out in two more years at the earliest. PCs double in two years, so there's no excuse why there shouldn't be football on PC. PC gaming is not shrinking, in fact it's growing.

Thats good and all, and I agree, that in general, games are better on PC due to modding and just plain running/looking better...BUT...what do the sales look like for the PC counterparts of those games in comparison to the consoles?

I love a game better on PC, too, but I know that I'm in the minority for the gaming population.

PC gaming is an advantage for me, but is it an advantage for a business?

You both have ignored what I've already addressed (thank you): Madden PC gamers are in the VAST minority. My answer addressed everything. Create a large enough demand, and Tiburon might consider it.

You can both explain to me why, if Madden on PC would be a lucrative release, they haven't done so? I'd love to hear a rational answer. All I ever hear is "EA only cares about money!" Well, go on.

Re: Bring Madden back to PC

If you want to talk about a demand first you have to have the supply. Madden was on the PC for what 2007-2008? That's my very long. Comparing the demand isn't a fair statement when it's had a lot longer on consoles. Look at FIFA and 2Ks NBA games. PC is loved on those because they have had the opportunity to have them on there. Not mention it's been almost fifteen years that NCAA has been on PC.

Bronco is it fair to say that the reason the consumer for madden was small due to sale figures? I believe this is where the focus would be to make such statement, or the one that truly matters.

Lets say that was the case I would think those numbers were small due to piracy. Now if they did drop Madden back on the PC those numbers will climb due to the new priacy measures taken.

                        What do you think?

Not saying this is what you stated. I'm just stating this on my own. Piracy should not be a excuse. Many other companies have triple A titles on the PC and do very well. EA has other titles out there also , so I really can't see why they can not bring Madden back to the PC.

Not only bring it to the PC , but lets have players match up between the console and PC.

That would be great, and probably much more comon when the new systems release.

Actually, EA had enough time to oversee the sales on PC.

Madden 88 and Madden 91 utilized DOS and starting with Madden 96 through Madden 07, it was Windows based.

Plenty of time to study if it was profitable on PC.

Olay you said four opportunities in 24 years! Are you serious? Play station has had madden for over 15 years and xbox has since the original one. Now your just making excuses for EA.
