I think team prestiage needs to be tuned
IMO, their SHOULD only be about five or six teams with 6* team prestiage(bama, LSU, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, Oregon). Also IMO, u should have won a NT as a 5*, not just by winning ur conf title game or a major bowl game.Tags: None -
Re: I think team prestiage needs to be tuned
I think your prestige should go up in increments, you gain/lose prestige way too fast. Why do you have to go up and down a full star everytime when you could slowly work your way up? IMO the prestige should be on a 1-10 star scale, with 10 stars being Alabama, OSU, USC, UF, etc. 1 star being South Alabama and the new FBS teams. You should gain half a star for winning a bowl, back to back winning seasons, or finishing top 2 in your conference. You can gain a full star by winning a bcs bowl, championship, or BCS Conference championship; half star for all other conferences. -

Re: I think team prestiage needs to be tuned
Ohio State, Michigan... What have they done lately to deserve 6*? 5*, yes. UF used to be a 6* til last year. The same can be said for Texas. Noter Dame is a 4* IMO. They only have name recognition. They havent mattered in years.Last edited by darren1024; 05-05-2012, 05:19 PM.Comment

Re: I think team prestiage needs to be tuned
It should take years for your prestige to change.. schools like Notre Dame, Alabama, Texas, etc should never be lower than a 6* unless they are complete crap for 20+ years. They shouldn't go down after one mediocre season. Schools on the lower tier should have a tough time of going up as well. Boise State should not be a 5*, yeah they've been good for the last decade but before that? Not much. They should be a 2 or 3*.
My example I'm going to use is my school, Kansas State. I'm not some homer that thinks we should be a 4* which is what we are on the game. Honestly, even with Bill Snyder, our prestige shouldn't increase that much. We've had a lousy football history until him. I think we should be a 1* and at best a 2*. History needs to play more of a factor in dynasty instead of being done on a year to year basis. It should take multiple national titles, conference titles, bowl games, BCS appearances, etc, to go from a 1* to a 6*. That alone should take at a minimum of 20-30 years. Would make being a 1* program a true challenge and make a more memorable dynasty.Comment

Re: I think team prestiage needs to be tuned
Oregon isn't a 6* program (I know they are in the game), I would say USC is more prestigious than Oregon. Also, Notre Dame a 6*, as of now, is laughable. 4* no more. I like the guys idea who said there should be 10*'s, I mean why 6*? 6 is kind of random.Comment

So OSU is not a 6* after one bad year? Ok if u say so. Oregon is not a 6* w/o a championship, get real the just won a BCS bowl last year. tOSU is 6-3, 5-3 if you take away the sugar bowl against Arkansas. 7 NC and numerous heisman winners. Also was ranked in the top ten year after year. Get it straight. Boise is a 4* at best, Michigan... not qualified to speak on. ND is a 5* program. They have been on the down trend for over 15 years. Texas is a 6* program. You are getting caught up in one year. Texas has been a dominant program for a long time.Last edited by blkrptnt819; 05-05-2012, 07:35 PM.CFB: Ohio State, FSU

Re: I think team prestiage needs to be tuned
prestige = throughout the course of college football history, not what have you done lately....i would say osu, michigan, texas, florida = 6*. Oregon just started competing 3 years ago when they hired Lyles!
Oregon, IMO, is 4-5* at best - which is why I "haha"edCoach Walter White UNM Lobos [43 - 0]

1-4* You can jump in one year.
From 4 to 5 it should take 3 years of sustained success (clearly defined)
From 5 to 6 should take 5 years of even higher sustained success (Clearly defined) and a NC.CFB: Ohio State, FSU

LSU? Alabama? I think these schools are more prestigious than Florida. I agree with Ohio State and Michigan being 6*Comment
