The Pink Elephant In The Room: The Death of the WAC and NCAA 13

So if I read all this re-alignment stuff correctly and I'd like to think I am.

    ACC: Pittsburgh, Syracuse
    Big 12: TCU, West Virginia
Big East: Boise State, San Diego State, UCF, SMU, Houston, Temple
Conference USA: La. Tech, North Texas, UTSan
    MAC: UMass
    MWC: Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada
    SEC: Texas A&M, Missouri
    Sun Belt: UT-Arlington, Texas State

If it's "in the game" will there only be 2 teams in the WAC? Or is it to late to change the programming, logic, script, whatever to make this happen. What is their contingency plan for the future, as the changing landscape of college football continues to churn towards "super conferences"?

Let's get some discussion on this (this is not a re-alignment thread btw)

I've been wondering this as well. I doubt they let us dissolve conferences, so how are we going to be able to effectively make all the conference changes in year 2 if the minimum for conferences is 4?

I thought about moving Navy/Army to the WAC as a fix, but forgot that Navy is moving onto the Big East in 2015.

edit: Also, Memphis is moving to the Big East as well.

        NBA: Los Angeles Lakers
        MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers
        NCAA: USC Trojans

In less than a year the Big 12 went from the verge of extinction (twice) to (re)solidifying itself, the Mountain West and CUSA went from a potential merger to a raid of the WAC and Sun Belt. The Big East went from a position of envy to a mad grab for any mid major they could find. As much as I bash on EA, there was no way they could gameplan for this level of zaniness.

That was NGTH. Why would conferences agree to something that demolishes them?

Right, they do have to get these licenses from NCAA and the conferences so I understand this. They don't want to hurt their brand. But the fact that we can't make a realistic 2013 season after our 2012 season in our dynasties kind of irks me. All the more reason we should be able to customize whatever WE want, it's our DANG game why the restrictions. Again I get the licensing restrictions about erasing conferences but why only 12 teambuilder teams??? Random number.

Add South Alabama and Georgia State to the Sun Belt (UT-Arlington is being added as a non-football member) and FIU is leaving for CUSA.

If there's no way to get rid of the WAC in NCAA 13, I'll probably split up the new Big East, sending Boise State, SDSU, Houston, and SMU to the MWC and move all of the never-will-be-contenders from the MWC to make up the WAC.

As of now, the only FBS newcomers that would need to be added to the game are Georgia State and South Alabama. Since it looks like Idaho and NMSU are about to be orphaned, they'd make good candidates for TB replacements.
<= The old TSU logo (retired in 2004): little-needed proof that no one cares about the Sun Belt.

Maybe I'm not up on the licensing small print, but if the WAC would get their feelings hurt by EA "damaging their brand", couldn't EA just say to heck with the WAC? Let EA call it the "Western Conference" or something really generic, then give us the ability to delete that one conference. Cut the WAC out of the game beforehand.

I would think that the WAC would rather be in the game and be deletable than not be in the game at all.

I just think it's a shame that I will have to take away from the new Sun Belt (or MAC, C-USA, whatever) just to fill out the WAC for Idaho and NMSU. It would make much more sense to be able to move Idaho and NMSU to independent or to the Sun Belt and then delete the WAC. This would be the most realistic thing to do after year 1 of dynasty, but instead it will be 12 more months of unrealistic conferences.

Let's face it, the WAC won't be in NCAA 14 anyway.

The WAC is a part of the full collegiate license. Without the WAC, you wouldn't get the full license. Also, since we don't know for sure if the WAC will, or will not be alive next year, its a little preemptive to destroy it.
