Go into practice mode, and you can kick from anywhere on the field until you get it down.

Get good at understanding when to push up and how wind effects the ball (through practice) and slam hard on the stick to assure max length.

The timing in online play and offline are 2 completely different galaxies due to the outrageous lag online. Lab with someone online and get the timing down. Note also that the timing on PAT, kickoff, punt and field goal attempts are different as well, so get a good feel for the timing before officially playing. I noticed that I couldn't even make 35 yard field-goals due to this stupid system. 2k Sports, UPDATE your kicking system before we all bite our nails down due to frustration with this system!!!!!!!!!!

There's nothing wrong with the system once you learn the timing. It works like it's supposed to.

Just watch your kicker's run-up animation and time your "up" motion to when the kicker begins to swing his leg.

I've been playing this game since it came out. I have no FG range. Extra points aren't gimmies for me. To this damn day, I still cannot kick field goals.
