NCAA Football 13 Is About To Suffer The Same Fate As Fight Night Champion

When FNC came out, people were excited yet cautious. EA, like always, hyped the new features and the Boxing Gyms etc. When the game came out...as always...it needed patching up and tuning. EA came out with the first 3 tuners and 2 patches and with each tuner made the game WORSE. After that 3rd tuner, people just gave up on the game period. Half the people didn't even know they dropped a 4th...didn't care. They moved on to other games. Come to find out that the last tuner along with the patch has made this game worth playing again. But, it's too little too late. They lost the majority of the FN gaming community with their garbage tuners.

I believe the same is about to happen with NCAA Football. Not that they will break the game with tuners...but that their hardcore audience will not wait around for them to patch and tune things up. They are gonna move on to other games...namely Madden...and forget about NCAA. They may actually make a good patch and tuner set...but it'll be too little too late!

    I just SMH!

Are you complaining about tuners that aren't even out yet?

Sad but true, it's not about complaining about tuners. The overall response to the game is not positive. I believe the sales will truly show this. A solid game should not need tuners or patches. I'm not asking for the best game but a solid game. They should follow The Show blueprint, try to work it's way there but that won't happen because madden is the show in terms of priorities. NCAA will not be around much longer.

Na man...what I'm saying is for the first time EVER...you have gamers who have played this game since Bill Walsh saying that they are gonna sit this year out. They've gotten t the point where they are tired of the same ole same ole and that's big! You are talking about dudes who have put ridiculous hours into making a game that should be better out of the box, better...saying thatthey aren't buying this year. What's going to happen is, they are going to move on to other games...or wait til Madden drops and put their time in on those games and NCAA 13 will be an afterthought. EA may very well create a tuner/tuners or patch/patches that will make this game better...but a lot of people won't even care. They will have moved on.

The same happened with Fight Night Champion. EA dropped one last tuner and it actually made the game a lot better and playable again. You have a few people, including me, actuallygetting back into it. But, the majority probably don't even know, or couldn't care less about it because they gave up on the game long time ago when it was garbage.

EA may have helped themselves in the wallet by getting a little extra cash from Season Ticket...but they hurt themselves, while helping other gamers by giving us the opportunity to play it 3 days early. A lot of cats will be saving $60 hard earned dollars because of it.

FNC didnt even make it a week in my apartment. Me and my roommates all beat it that week hated it and returned it waste of money. NCAA may suffer the same fate with hardcore gamers but for their other consumers I dont think itll happen they dont notice as much as we do because its just a casual thing for hardcore NCAA fans.

I think the biggest thing that'll hurt NCAA 13 is not being able to import your draft into Madden 13. For a lot of us, it defeats the purpose of buying both, and keep playing both.

LoL the importing thing isn't even top 5 in my opinion. There are alot of things wrong with the game. The list of negatives far outweighs the positive.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Is About To Suffer The Same Fate As Fight Night Champion

This is an interesting point and one that shouldn't just be brushed off as nonsense. I never played FNC but I can't say it surprises me to hear. The fact is, EA (lately) has a terrible history with tuner sets and moreso with patches. NCAA 11 to some was the best next gen football experience before the first patch. After the first patch it ruined the game for some people. In NCAA 12, the first patch broke no huddle offenses and took out a huge portion of the game.

Then they launch a flawed out of the box NCAA 13 in terms of offensive/defensive option plays, situational defensive AI (i.e. on option plays), safety AI, zone defense issues... Some of these are things that affect EVERYONE regardless of playstyle (like the safety AI, or the bug going around where touchbacks are put at the 25 yard line) and can make the game unplayable.

So here we are, before the game is even officially released, in need of a big patch. After looking back at EA's recent history, it's hard to say the future of NCAA 13 is anything but grim at this point. They really need to get their **** together or they will spurn a lot of buyers. It's gotten to the point now where there is no honeymoon period where 90% of the people love the game and the mood is optimistic. This release was disastrous. I've gotten into the release hype since NCAA 06 and this is by far the worst I've ever seen it.

I'm not saying it's time to completely abandon ship or the NCAA series is doomed, but it's time to start getting at least a little bit worried about the way EA is handling this franchise (if you aren't already).

I'm one of those who has played NCAA since Bill Walsh. I though I'd never go a year without a purchase. Last year I played 12 about a week then traded. no way I'm getting 13, unless someone gets it for me....used.

I don't even get excited about the release anymore.

No doubt. It ain't even in my top 15. That doesn't bother me at all. Some things you can live with. Some things are flat out unacceptable because a lot of the stuff that's broken has WORKED before. Not only that, they keep adding "new" feautures to the game yet ignore the same ole stuff that has plagued the series for years. It's like you keep PIMPING YOUR RIDE with new paint jobs, new wheels, new rims, new stereo system, new upholstery...yet you fail to get your transmission fixed! Your transmission been messed up for 5 years now and you still adding new fluff to your car. Makes no sense.

The ONLY reason why I'm getting this game tomorrow night is because I love college football that much and I used trade in's on games I don't even play anymore to get it.

But, I don't blame the one's who choose not to one BIT!!!

Before joining the site! I can remember getting on EA Sports website watching the launch trailer about fifty times a day. I think it was probably around NCAA 05-06. We used to get so excited about trying to score a early copy. I ask my cousin today if he was getting 13, he said....when does it come out?

This is where most of the hardcore fans are ending up. With nothing truly to get excited about except players running onto the field in 3 or 4 years, SMH at EA
