    Stat Tracking or Lack Thereof

Please SCEA make this a priority for 2013!!! This game is awesome with the exception of franchise stat tracking. Game play, animations, and graphics are all exactly what I expect and appreciate about this game. Lack of Franchise depth kills it.

I'm a huge franchise guy and everything is great except stat and award tracking. I would be satisfied with a simple player profile that lists player achievements, awards, and stats broken down by year. The Show has been missing this for years and I can't be the only one with this as my major gripe. It's a little thing but adds so much more to the franchise depth. It's about the only thing 2K baseball get's right.

Totally agree. Let's make sure they see it.

I agree also. That is one thing that Madden has always gotten right.

I haven't gotten past my first season yet. Once the season is over you can't see previous seasons stats??

Only the most basic of stats, like home runs, avg and rbis. You can't even see stolen bases after the year. It's weird and considering how stat driven baseball is, they need to address this for 13.

I remember hearing that the lack of career stats has something to do with the save file becoming to large. I'm not sure how big the save file is now, but imagine how big it would be after year 20 in Franchise. Personally I wouldn't mind though, I still have plenty of room on my HDD and the addition of advanced stats and sabermetrics for a player's career would be worth it.

I've read the same thing about the save file issue.

With MLB 12 I noticed that the save file grows as you play more and more. In MLB 11 and before, the size of a save file was pretty much always the same (meaning only fixed amount of data were kept).

I take this as a good sign that the devs are taking strides toward better stats management.

If file size is an issue than maybe they can have an option that asks if you want full stat tracking or not. This way for those with limited space or whatever(faster loading?) they can turn it off. In all reality though I don't see how adding more stats, which is just text, would make a file size THAT huge to where it's a problem. Like mentioned other games do it just fine.

Maybe the programmers just need to find a way to make the code more optimal to handle the file rather than removing something that is what many people love about the game past the actual game play itself.

One thing that I adore about MLB The Show over other games is load times in franchise. You can cycle through information so quickly it almost has ruined other games for me. I'm almost at the point where I can do without other stats to keep things moving along.

The other game has stats galore; however, and load times there I have not found to be an issue.

I would gladly accept slower load times for more stat tracking. Baseball is not much about loading times, but it sure is about stats!

I don't even think you can see runs, right? I think its just PA, Hits, Average, HR, RBI.

Which is weird since runs and stolen bases are two of the batter records categories. The game keeps track of at least those stats for each player because it has to know when the steals record is broken, it's just not displayed anywhere.

This issue comes up every year, and every year it gets ignored or pushed aside. The gave us DLC (paid no less) that expanded on stats, but only sabermetrics.

SCEA should really pick up a copy of 2K12 (or even NBA 2K12, same system) and check out every bit of stat tracking in that game and find a way to implement a similar system in the show. Heck, sit down with Baseball Mogul or OOTP and try and come up with something.

                          - Full year stats that have sortable columns.
                          - Full playoff stats that have sortable columns.
                          - Stat lines that list the year, and team played for.
                          - Award tracking including all star appearances
                          - Injury history
                          - Salary history
                          - Misc. tracking such as jersey number changes, transactions, etc.

Not to me. Baseball is slow enough in real life.
