For the Love of God WHY?!

I waited to get a decent roster, and downloaded them and they looked good.

I start a Road to Glory career mode and after 10 High School games and I FINALLY get to College, BOOM!; Generic made up names.

Why?

I had the downloaded rosters saved and loaded when I started Road to Glory. I just don't see why stuff like this happens.

I've got a save right before I go to college, is there anything I can do to get the real rosters in my career; or are real rosters banned from Road to Glory mode this year or something?

From what I remember, default rosters (with auto generated names) have always been used in RTG.

If that's the case I'm amazed that I haven't noticed it.

I mean, I've played every year for the past 4 years but usually only for about a month and I quit when Madden comes out.

What would be the reason for that?

I mean, it's just ridiculous to ban users from using named rosters in the road to glory mode.

did you get the options for the dynasty when you started it? you have to turn the autoname switch off or it will overwrite your saved rosters. but like the earlier poster said they may not let you use them in that mode.

the only way you would be able to use YOUR rosters is if you to to play with an existing player

Like I said this is Road to Glory not Dynasty.

I usually never play Dynasty mode.

I'll start over just to see what happens if I create a player, put him on a roster, then start a Road to Glory mode using that player instead of creating one from scratch and playing the High School games.

when you are setting up the dyasnty and it gives you ur dyansty options one will be autogenerate roster names which is default on. make sure its off.

You don't have that option pop up if you are in Road to Glory mode.

If you want to play with the rosters you have loaded before starting Road to Glory mode, you have to play with an existing player. For example, you create your player on the team you want them to be on and then you pick the option to play with an existing player and select that player.

Also, the auto-generate name tab does not overwrite your saved rosters. It only fills in the players who are not named.

when you start a new RTG, you have the option to either create a player from scratch, or use an existing player. if you choose existing player, what ever roster you have uploaded thats the one you use.

There is no option in RTG to use autoname or off when you start it up, its just going to autoname.

yeah its really dumb but here's the reason you cant use your own rosters.

each team in the default rosters has 69/70 players on the roster. for the most part a lot of edited rosters have created players to get more important players onto the game. (why waste a spot and not create a new recruit or something?) so if you were to start RTG and want to go to a school that has 70/70 already it wouldn't be possible so for EA to prevent it they just have to revert RTG to the default every time and just random name it. So when you pick your school you become the 70/70th player on that team in the default roster. i know its dumb. its even dumb the limit is 70 college teams have up to like 90 lol
