RTG: How to catch as a DB?

I'm playing as an FS in RTG and I can't figure out how to catch, every time I press Y my guy doesn't do anything and whenever the ball comes toward me I just end up batting it down instead of even trying to catch it.

I had the same situation happen to me last night. I was playing as a linebacker and the QB threw a bad pass that was literally a foot from my head. I was like "hellz yea! I'll take that" but when I pressed Y nothing happened. I just stood there... And the pass was completed for a touchdown. I was just shocked. Couldn't believe that my guy just stood there even though I mashed the crap out of Y. Not Cool.

All you really have to do is practice catching. once you start practicing itll become second nature. since you play DB you never really think of catching so thats y you smack the ball instead of catching it. Ive been following a program called truth about how to catch a football and its helped me a lot. i play WR for my high school and my coach has deff seen an improvement in my catching.

Yeah the Y button on defense rarely works this year. lack of User control is making this game hard to play.
