    Heisman winner not drafted?

In my dynasty as Miami, I won the Heisman trophy with my running back who was rated an 88 overall. I get to the offseason and notice that only Ray Ray Armstrong (SS) was drafted. How can something like this happen? I have an A- already for pro potential, so it isn't a big deal.

Anyone else notice anything weird with the drafted players? I looked it over and it seemed that it was just a certain number of the top rated players who got drafted.

It's mostly based off of OVR but not completely I had a 99 ovr RBcnot get drafted after an overall poor season throughout the team

There are a ton of Heisman winners who should have never been drafted but were. Be glad your guy won't have the "bust" label looming over his head like others.

The draft stock thing is almost completely based off of rating. Mettenberger declared for me and it said he was going in the 7th round even though he had a Heisman Caliber and a Nat. Championship victory. I've also seen Eric Reid go in the 6th round when in reality he is probably at worst a 4th rounder.

Not really, but you are a Colorado fan so I can see why you would think that. (Salam was awful for the bears).

In the last 30 years The Heisman winner has a pretty good record of being a solid pro to hall of famer. Yes you have epic failures like Gino Torretta, Andre Ware, any QB from the big 12, etc. Then lesser successes like Ty Detmer/Matt Leinart.

Tim Brown, Hershal Walker, Barry Sanders, Charles Woodson, Bo Jackson all played like hall of famers (woodson isnt eligible yet and jackson didnt make it due to injury)

Carson Palmer, Eddie George, Doug Flutie were all good pros

I think Charlie Ward could have played in the NFL today as a wildcat/Brad Smith type role.

These guys were all off the top of my head. I was busting the colorado guy's chops jokingingly, but i do believe Heisman winners have a pretty good track record of playing in the pros at a good level. I am not saying all heisman winners merit a first round draft pick on them.

If its in the game, its in the game (but not this game.........a running back out of miami does not go undrafted). If i was the original poster i would just chalk that up to EA laziness. The deeper I have gotten into this game the more I have been let down by alot of little details.

I had a running back at indiana win the heisman my second season in dynasty. He didnt get drafted either.

                  Re: Heisman winner not drafted?

Perhaps it has something to do with the new Madden recruiting they overhauled. In the new Madden, recruiting is integrated with "fake" social media. You will be able to follow the recruits through the draft process. If a team is interested in a prospect and scouting them, the NFL reporter who covers your team (and they will be using the real reporter names in Madden) will Tweet it. So everyone on your Combined Careers league will know you are scouting that player. But ALSO what may happen can mirror real life, like a player tears their ACL playing a game of catch in their backyard the night before the draft, OR THEY DECIDE TO PLAY ANOTHER PRO SPORT. This is all in the new Madden draft process.

After not being drafted. Unless he was always planning to just play basketball and the NFL teams all knew, he still got passed on big time.

Pete Dawkins from Army won the Heisman in 1958 but his military commitment kept him from being drafted.

A different situation but he is another person who went undrafted.

No, Ward said he was going to play in the NBA if he wasn't drafted in the 1st round of the NFL draft.

Jason White is probably a better example.
