Are the lockups that bad? I mean, damn man. I bought it this AM and scared to even open it because I'm about to return it. I'm strictly a dynasty player. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

I play offline dynasty, got it release day and have had 3 to 4 freezes in almost daily play. Only one was during a game. Frustrating of course but not prohibitive for me. You will likely love the new recruiting btw.

lol powertrip fail... it's all good.. not an impression nor part of a Q/A. 1000's of threads of freezing on the internet, but I want to know if the game is worth keeping...... which is why the thread was made buddy.

I've had this game since release day and I've yet to have a game that froze. But I like dynasty a lot more. I like the recruiting as well as some of the new small features. Such as the National Contenders feature that project how good you'll be in a 4 year span. Even though you can't import draft classes, I like how it shows what round your players were "drafted" in after each season.
Of course it has it's small bugs, but I don't think it is bad enough not to open and enjoy.Comment

Decided to leave it open and was in the process of deleting my post when I lost my internet. Powertrip... hardly. These individual "Should I buy, keep" threads are usually closed.
To your question: I'm on my 3rd season in my dynasty and have not had one freeze that has caused me to have to shut the machine off. PS3. Sometimes I will get a 1-2 second freeze on a cut-scene, but that's about it.

Like RG, I've played a good bit of the game (both Dynasty and Road to Glory) and I've yet to have a single freeze that stopped that game.--

I think the game in general is much more stable if you buy it off PSN and XBOX live, I downloaded it and have never had problems. I think it's the disc versions that are having the major freezing issues. So if you have decent internet you might want to consider purchasing it digitally.
I understand that its frustrating but unfortunately it seems to be the only way to fix the freezing issue.Comment

I had the freezing issue but then I cleared my cache problem solved.
But to answer the OP, I would say open it the new recruiting is a blast new on field Animations are sweet. Some new and cool ESPN cut in during games adds to the TV feel of the game.BOOMER..Sooner!Comment

I've had it on PS3 since Season Ticket early release and have had only one freeze in game which unfroze after about a minute.I do get slight freeze's from time to time in cut scenes but overall this game has been good the new recruiting rocks and the patch to address the freeze issue is only 6 days away keep itComment

No you don't lose game files at all, I have a 360. It simply dose maint. on you HDD. Kinda like defrag for your console so to speak. Simply got system/memory/ memory otions and click clear cache. keeps games running smooth, I also install all games I spend a lot of time in.BOOMER..Sooner!Comment

I've frozen 3-4 times since I bought the game. I play everything from Dynasty to Online Dynasty, including Heisman, RtG and Online multiplayer. The game, much lik every game, has its' problems, but I have had 60+ dollars of fun, and I only paid 45.Comment

I've had quite a few freezes and I've had parts in my dynasty where I have been forced to simulate to get past a freeze. Between the freezes and unresponsive controls I would just return it until a patch has come out, you could probably buy it off someone cheaper by then. my biggest peeve about the game is when you control a defender or receiver the controls are unresponsive and if you try to pick something off you just stand there while the other team catches it and runs for a TD, or on offense you stand there while the guy intercepts it.Comment
