Pocket Passer Sucks
so I create a pocket passer QB in RTG.. he gets sacked 6 times a game and always 3 seconds or less after the snap (I look at the clock).. no blocking whatsoever in the HIGH SCHOOL part of the game even.. no chance to throw on half the plays. I still have linebackers making amazing recoveries on open receivers for interceptions also, but I'm used to throwing 4 interceptions per game now after trying a balanced QB before.View Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
It seems also, that after downloading an update last night the receivers have concrete for hands and can't catch anything.. like people thought it was too easy so they made RTG even harder as a QBView Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
In a 'high school' game in RTG currently I am..
11/30 passing.. 233 yards 6 interceptions.. on seemingly open receivers where LB's and Safetys show up out of nowhere.. never had a game anywhere near this bad, had 4 TD pass 4 running one game earlier .. still with 4 interceptions..
by the way I'm only on Varsity.. not all american or anything higher.. it's pathetic how far the defense comes to pick off passes when I'm not sacked or manage to throw it awayView Through My Lens sports photography

Sounds to me like you need to step your game up, or hope that bench has padded seats.Comment

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
I had the exact opposite impression. Playing on All-American, I can't help but to put up over 500 yards and 7 TDs a game. I'm not cheesing at all, and I'm not even good at the game. It seems to me like you're trying to get sacked or something.Eagles - Flyers - Phillies - 76ers - NovaComment

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
Don't move a lot in the pocket, at most step up to throw, EA games are notorious for disengaging blocks due to movement, the CPU players only like throwing clean blocks, so if a player turns they generally won't try to hit them.
Know your Top read and if your getting pressured a lot a hot read which will be an underneath or dump off, if you get time than goto 2 or maybe even three reads with your dump off option being the final.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
Funny advice.. as a one step drop is already a sack in practice playing with Oregon and receivers drop every ball in position battle when they get hit so I'm still the 3rd string.. the game gave my QB a pathetic throwing power of 38 or so after signing.. couldn't throw a 30 yard pass.. almost every play in position battle is a screen pass so I can't even get 2200 points when they do catch the ball.. guess I'll have to sit the entire first season.. already in week 9View Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
I made a pocket passer as my second QB .
Started off with around 40 throw power . It is hard because this year they actually made throw power matter, a lot more . You just have to make short passes and REALLY make sure your left analog stick is in sync with your guys route if not its a sure interception .Currently playing FIFA 2013 & DOTA 2 ( PC )

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
The throwing power thing is a glitch that has been in the game for like the last four years. I suggest you erase your character and recreate him with the Create A Player function and start your RTG via that. And I highly doubt that dropped passes are always happening. If they are dropping it consistently when they get hit... Stop giving them suicide passes. Pass to someone more open rather than someone who you know will get drilled immediately. Dropping a ball when you get shillacked as soon as you catch it is pretty realistic. They don't have glue on their hands. And as a true freshman you SHOULD be sitting the whole year. I make a point to not be a starter my first season with any RTG player because it's bull**** if you do.Funny advice.. as a one step drop is already a sack in practice playing with Oregon and receivers drop every ball in position battle when they get hit so I'm still the 3rd string.. the game gave my QB a pathetic throwing power of 38 or so after signing.. couldn't throw a 30 yard pass.. almost every play in position battle is a screen pass so I can't even get 2200 points when they do catch the ball.. guess I'll have to sit the entire first season.. already in week 9Comment

Just to go on with your post . I hope next year they allow you to red shirt your first year because your right you should be sitting especially at QB .The throwing power thing is a glitch that has been in the game for like the last four years. I enjoyed the development at QB this year, outside of the THP glitch. My freshman year at USC I was stuck at 3rd string till week 13 when I finally built my guys OVR high enough to where I was even with the backup. That and before the patch the point system was rough to say the least. -20 for a sack, -50 for a fumble and -100 for a pick made it real hard to keep points once earned. Then as a Sophomore it took me till week 4 before I beat out the Senior starter. That made it a lot more realistic this year.

Re: Pocket Passer Sucks
It may be more 'realistic'.. but as a sophomore starter I can't win a big game because the defense gives up 40 points.. The play calling is still pathetic,4 straight screens called then 3 options and lost possession each drive. I can't really change plays every time since I only have 5 chances.. on the options I went to extra plays and it was another option or screen. On half the screens I either throw a pick 6 or get sacked.
Same thing happened in my game as a Notre Dame RB as far as winning 'big' games.. a drive you don't score, then give up 21 straight points to Navy and lose by 30 pts overall when you're a top 15 ranked team.. it sure seems it's in the game code that you won't win unless you score a touchdown every drive.View Through My Lens sports photography
