Are the signature skills really not replaceable by simply adding new ratings...?

Floor general is the one that everyone's all like "man, that makes sense"...

    But really?

Aren't some players better than others at playmaking? Rose is a playmaker. Nash probably is. Isn't Nash better at running a team than Rose (I'm sure even some/many/most Rose fans would agree)?

If it just makes plays run smoother, faster and teammates more aware offensively...

    Why not a rating?

    Same for screen setting..."dead eyes"...etc...

Is it all just a gimmick?

i think that the reason they don't add ratings to cover these things is they don't really have the memory capabilities on the current gen consoles. where as adding abilities or sig skills takes up a lot less memory.

I think more ways (more varied attributes/skills) to define player individuality is a good thing.

Perhaps developers felt that current rating system won't achieve this. For example, someone can be very good at passing as per real life passing success rate however not a flashy passer at all.

Developers are working to make game better. More fine tuning is being provided. What's the issue?

Maybe there will be animations that are exclusive to players with those abilities as well.

^^ exactly I think they couldn't put 28 new ratings for the Sig skills most likely for memory limitations. When you think about some of these Sig skills are going to be included in ratings already like pick pocketer, on ball defender. Ankle breakers will have high dribble ratings already. Do we really need a chasedown block rating for the whole league? Some of these are like on off switches, some will be like a flag to let the user know what the player can do.

it depends on how in depth they are. for example ish smith is no where near a top tier gaurd but his passing is on 90 or so.. and there is no deifference playing with him at pg then it was steve nash
