Does anyone know if you can change a teams scheme in CC? Especially if you create a coach?

I don't have the retail version so I can't say for sure but from the way I understand it is you can't just flat out change the scheme but what you can do is start to acquire the types of players to fit the scheme you're wanting to go to and once all the pieces are in place the game will adjust your scheme accordingly. I could be completely off but that's what I've gathered from the various things I've read. -
