Team goals are Tough!
Not sure who thought of this feature but wow, how is my 6 WR gonna get 80 catches in a year let alone my top 2 receivers going to get 110 a piece. My 2nd and 3rd RBs getting Crazy amounts of yards for there goals? MLBs needing 125 a piece to meet there season expectations, WTH. 2nd and 3rd string QBs needing 4500 yards in a year not gonna happen with my 1st let alone my 2nd and 3rd. Way to tough to reach these IMO, Just nuts....NINERS FAN SINCE 96Tags: None -
Re: Team goals are Tough!
THey are the max goals for the players that you get the most XP for. You get certain xp for different increments on the way there. It shouldn't be easy to reach the top level of goals as far as xp goes.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights
NCAAF: Ohio State
NFL: Minnesota Vikings
MLB: Chicago CubsComment

Re: Team goals are Tough!
The biggest problem I have with this, is the goals for a 4th and 5th WR, or 3rd string RB are the same as those for starters for the most part. Sure, in theory that makes sense, but what it actually does is not allow for the progression of your backups, because, well, they just aren't going to earn any points to allow you to progress them. But, everyone knows players in the real NFL still progress through practice, and coaching. Guys that sit on the bench, do still develop, just not in Madden because you'll never be able to earn them any points. Kind of ridiculous really. Thats my biggest issue with the goals, and xp related progression.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Re: Team goals are Tough!
There are different tiers to the goals and the ones he is putting out is the 4th Tier (Max).
However, you only have to get Tier 2 goals to avoid being fired (coach) or regressing.
I know for my Tier 2 goal as an Undrafted WR, is too make only 1 Catch.Comment

Re: Team goals are Tough!
I think a good solution to the progression for backups would be based on your coach ratings, every player should get some xp each week based on the coaching they are receiving from the HC, OC, or DC. Not alot, but at least something so that they can still progress, even it its only a little bit each year, rather than just sitting idle, because they are out there practicing, being coached etc, etc, so they should be improving slightly.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

How do you see the different tier goals for each player?Comment

Re: Team goals are Tough!
Go to the "More" section. Go to "Strategy" (I think) and you'll find Team Goals. Select whatever you want to see their goals and click "A" (Xbox) or "X" (PS3). You can then use the LB and RB buttons to move between Weekly Goals, Milestones, and Season Goals.
The Season goals is where you will see the 4 Different Tiers.Comment

Right, but still, for your 6th WR, if you kept that many on the roster to progress, the lower tiers of the goals will get him maybe 500 xp for the season, you can't do anything with that. He's not going to improve at all, unless he sees major time on the field. They should gain slight amounts of xp each week based on the coaches ratings maybe, and their spot on the depth chart and play time. Something, anything really.
I shouldn't have to play my games during the season and put an effort in to have my 5th WR get into the game and catch some passes simply to meet his goals so he progresses. He should progress on his own, in addition to his on field accomplishmenst on sundays.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Re: Team goals are Tough!
Which is the whole point of a "performance-based" progression system that everybody has been hoping for in Madden...
I don't get it. How would any player truly get any better without playing time on the field?I shouldn't have to play my games during the season and put an effort in to have my 5th WR get into the game and catch some passes simply to meet his goals so he progresses. Breakout season performances require time on the field, n'est ce-que pas?Comment

Re: Team goals are Tough!
So... you mean to tell me that Aaron Rodgers should have gotten better? I mean, when he was drafted I'm sure his rating in Madden was what... 70 something? Then Favre retires, he becomes the starter, and is rated much higher. Or to relate that to the real NFL... Rodgers sat behind Favre, learned, improved physically, and became a much better player than he was. He didn't do that on the field. He did that off the field, by way of great coaching, and practice etc. etc. Players in the NFL improve all the time... Think about the guys, probably even o n your favorite team who were drafted, didn't see the field much in year one, but year two come out and have great seasons, because... they improved! Coaching and practice does that. In madded under this new XP system, these guys that don't see the field, never will improve, unless you force them out there and make them improve during game action. Of course doing that, you're only setting another player behind though because now he won't earn any in game XP, or earn XP from season goals.Which is the whole point of a "performance-based" progression system that everybody has been hoping for in Madden...

It should also be pointed out that these goals to not seem specific to the actual scheme/ player type. Darren Sproles Team goal is to rush for 1600 yards. With the amount of backs and schemes that the Saints run that is virtually impossible. It should be adjust for all purpose yards or receiving/rushing yards combined.Comment

Have you ever played team sports? You can practice practice practice all you want, but you don't truly ride the learning curve until you start subbing into games.So... you mean to tell me that Aaron Rodgers should have gotten better? An engineer can draft plans in his cubicle but will never be able to build what he writes down until he goes out into the field and observes or partakes in the process.
The most experience comes from actually playing, which is any football player's objective. I just don't get your point. Madden did it in the best way possible in order to not make it so arcadey and easy to bump up every player's attributes on your team.Comment

Tackle goals could be attainable, if assisted tackles worked properly. Not sure who thought of this feature but wow, how is my 6 WR gonna get 80 catches in a year let alone my top 2 receivers going to get 110 a piece.
