Do ratings adjust without XP
My question is I know you use XP to increase player ratings and I assume old players decline but do young players stats increase on there own or only through xp? Also if say you have a rookie WR and you use xp to upgrade his catch by 2 in season from 75 to 77 then go into yr two were his catch would be upgraded auto from 75 to 80 does it end up being 82 or still only goes to 80 and you wasted your XP?

I don't believe so, that's what the big deal about the xp and being able to use it anyway you wanted to. At least that's was EA's marketing has told me.

Re: Do ratings adjust without XP
That is not what EA marketing told you. Maybe what you read some people on here say but not what EA said. If you and some others would of paid attention you would of known from the very beginning that players earn their own xp and that xp you can use on that player however you want and coaches earn coach xp that is used to buy packages.
This is how EA has said the xp system would be from the very beginning.Comment

Re: Do ratings adjust without XP
Players do automatically progress/regress each year but not as significant as previous Maddens. The biggest change you'll see in OVR is 1 or 2 points. Not 5-10 like last year.
Best thing to do is save for the development trait on any player under 26-28 years old. Then work on progressing them in the second or third year depending how long it takes them to save 50,000 XP. [I think that's the cost]Comment

Re: Do ratings adjust without XP
You can use you XP however you want. It is true.
Or are you saying that I don't have the option to save up a player's XP to increase his production rating, or use it to raise a HB's catching to make him a receiving back? Or save up to increase speed ratings for my WR?Comment

Josh Looman, himself, in his developers blog on EASports.com explaining CC said
"You have full control over "what" you progress and "when" you progress it. Want to save your XP to make your player faster? Go ahead. Want to upgrade your awareness as soon as you can? Its all up to you."
So, again, tell me where I was wrong.

So to get back on topic say I have a young WR. his catch is 80. At the end of the year madden would progress his catch auto to 81. If I upgrade his catching during the season to an 81 with xp dow madden auto upgrade still upgrade him 1 pt to 82 or does it not auto upgrade a pt because he is already at 81?Comment

Re: Do ratings adjust without XP
I am not sure that is true. I don't think players progress at all on their own if you control the team unless you have auto progression on. I do believe they will regress however. If you aren't auto progressing, it is up to you to progress them.So to get back on topic say I have a young WR. his catch is 80. At the end of the year madden would progress his catch auto to 81. Re: Do ratings adjust without XP
yea that is what I am trying to figure out...makes sense there is auto regression but wondering if any auto progression like the one guy said a little bit but not like in the past....anyone have a hardcore sure answer on this?Comment

Re: Do ratings adjust without XP
I am almost certain there is no auto progression unless you have it set to do so. I know Josh said that even setting 1 week, 4 weeks, end of year for progression doesn't mean anything for human players as you can progress anytime you want. It is just for CPU. I don't think players on human teams progress at all on their own... but I could be wrong.Follow me on Twitter @cavemangamer

Re: Do ratings adjust without XP
I think the overall rating of a player may adjust slightly from season to season due to their production rating being increased each year.Comment
