What do you guys do about this?

If you are a Madden player, you probably know what I'm about to talk about. I'm talking about multiple rookies at the end of a season that have the same name. For example, if I had a rookie whos name was " Anthony Tanner "... if I simmed a few seasons and looked at the rookies that are drafted, I would get a few people with the name Anthony Tanner. If I played the full 30 seasons, there would most likely be a bunch of people with the same last name.

This was a game breaker for Madden 12.. I only played 3 seasons and never touched the game again for this reason.

So I'm just wondering... what do you guys do about this? I'm sure i'm not the only one that has noticed this issue.

LOL, yeah it was. Within 3 years I had like 12 players with the same last name. That and the God awful commentary is what made me stop playing Madden 12.

I don't see why this is a big deal. If you look at all the players in the NFL today there are a bunch of same last names. Thomas, Miller, Robinson, Moore, Smith, Scott and the list goes on.

I know, but I want realism from a football game. There are just too many players with the same last name. I counted 8 people ( from year 1 franchise to year 3 ) with the last name Carter, and they were rookies. Then after that I counted 6 rookies with Watts as their last name. See where I'm going here?

That's not what I meant. There were 8 rookies that had the last name Carter from year 1 to 3. I'm talking about Madden not the NFL.

This actually makes what the op said more of an issue because it means the number of Carters in the NFL just doubled in one draft class.

lol, and they are pointing out that there is nothing wrong in madden by comparing it to real life. Just take a loot at this years draft. 3 Brown's, 3 Allen's, 2 Adams, 3 Crawfords, etc. And that's only A-C.

Oh, gotcha. To the bills guy though, it doubled in 3 classes assuming none retired or got dropped. I think they do a better job with randomizing than they did in previous years.

Of course they could give us a way to fix any issues by giving us name/number/equipment editing back. It's sorely needed.

Even if the premise of your complaint is a little ridiculous, this year each draft class was hand made by the dev team. With Connected Careers you should find quite a bit more variety and uniqueness with player names as opposed to previous years.

I'd rather have a bunch of Williams, Robinsons, Scott's, etc. in the game than jibberish names like hawkaglue meeterbaial type names I've seen in previous Maddens and NCAA.
