Ya, give it to him, he earned it with that 63 yard FG against GB. That was a pretty sweet kick. -

its a video game, you cant calibrate elements. Just what happened..and what happened was, he kicked it real far LOLComment

Re: David Akers, should he be a 99 distance next week?
I know we can change it with sliders, but the Madden default for kicking power needs to go up in general. It would help for people like my brothers who run leagues but too old fashioned to mess with sliders since they believe it's cheating to adjust any sliders apparently.Comment

Re: David Akers, should he be a 99 distance next week?
My point remains. Janikowski hit his 63 yarder halfway up the goal. Therefore, I don't see a way anyone who hits the crossbar should be 99 if he is 99 or lessComment

Re: David Akers, should he be a 99 distance next week?
The problem with kicking power in general is that most, if not all kickers, generally have the appropriate power IRL to kick a 60+ yard field goal. Depending on location (i.e. Denver) and wind factors, most kickers can get enough power behind it to get the distance.
The problem is though, when you see kickers miss long FG's IRL they generally miss in terms of accuracy (i.e. wide left or wide right). You rarely see a kicker miss under the crossbar and be short.
That's not to say some kickers IRL won't be short, it has happened before. But I'm saying in perfect conditions or with a big breeze in their favor most kickers, in terms of Madden ratings will be a 90-99 kick power, but not very accurate.Comment

With how straight the kick was from that distance, I'd boost his accuracy and his distance rating, like the guy posting above me is saying most kickers can nail kicks from 60+ its factors around the kick that go into actually making it or not. I don't think the video game can actually adjust to factor in these things, besides wind.Currently playing FIFA 2013 & DOTA 2 ( PC )

funny how akers hits a 63 yarder but back when he was an eagles anything 45+ was a terrifying and anxiety filled fg attemptComment
