Don't play hockey games, need advice

Okay guys, as already addressed in the title, I don't play hockey games or pay attention to the sport in the least. My favorite team is the Florida Panthers and I can only name a few players on the roster lol. That being said, I downloaded the demo for NHL 13 and I am absolutely loving it. I am an avid player of FIFA and Madden so I've had a great time with EA Sports titles, and I know that NHL has always been considered EA's most quality sports game. My question for you serious NHL players is should I shell out the 60 bucks to get NHL 13 or do what I had in mind and getting NHL 12 on amazon for 15 bucks? Is the difference really worth it for someone who knows nothing about hockey but is enjoying the game? Thanks for any advice I can get

Get NHL 11. There was actually penalties in that game. I'm just a casual hockey fan too, but NHL 11 was one of my favorite sports games.

Disagree. Get 13.
Might be a problem with penalties, might be fixed.
Even if it's not, it hardly game breaking for someone new to the game.


Had it been "get 11 or 12?" I could've told you to get 11, but the step up to 13 is a big one.

Get a hockey game

Learn all the rules inside and out from playing it

Become addicted

Start watching real hockey on TV every season

Hockey becomes favorite sport of all time

Look, go for NHL 13, try it from cover to cover and see if it's fit you. If you like it after few days, keep it, if not, trade it for something else. The value of the game will be high and you could say you try it.

NHL 11 wasn't bad, but NHL 13 as so much to offer that I wouldn't go with NHL 11 just to save a few bucks.

I wouldn't touch NHl 12 even with a ten feet pole in my hands.

This is actually how I came to be a die NFL fan, when I was younger from playing Madden in the late 90s. Ha!

Get nhl 13. It is the best in the series by a mile. I have owned every nhl game this current gen and not since nhl 08 have I been this into EA's hockey. I have enjoyed them all but this version eclipses every single one. It is a top shelf sports title.
