Hey guys, I don't know if many of you know me, but I am currently a student in college who is majoring in computer science with an emphasis in computer program. I am fairly fluent in Java and I am really getting into C++ development at the moment. The point of this thread is whether there would be any interest in me making an indie basketball game. It would be fairly simple game with no real big features rather than just a game play mode and it will be free to play on the PC. It would be nice learning experience for me and something I think you guys will enjoy. Tell me what you guys think and if they are people who want to play, I will start working on the game. I have some of the core concepts as what I want to do already. Thanks for your time.

I want to make it entirely real-time physics based game play. A complely unique control scheme from both 2K and Live. As for features it will only have a play now mode. What would you guys want to see in this game.Comment

Seems like a very ambitious project! Something related to College Basketball would be cool.
I really don't know what else to say. I don't think I could tell you things like "make graphics and animations better than 2K". that's something that you and your team will need to define. With NBA Live 13 cancelled, my indie game will officially be the only competitor to 2K. I am still working on the game; slowly but steadily. I am ready for the challenge
