    Stuck on 71 home runs.

Hi, I've been stuck on 71 home runs for this season, and it's making me wonder: does the game prevent you from breaking records? Anyone hit more than 71 in a season? I have like 8 games left in the season and was hoping to hit 73 or more.

    Thanks.

The game will not prevent you from breaking the actual HR record..

However, after you officially break the real HR record, the "comeback code" will kick in and a player controlled by the CPU will just re-break your record. Looks like you'll be number two on that list :/

I don't see how that is so far fetched - ever play NBA2K12? I have, and it's jaded me beyond my years so when I see something that seems fishy, I automatically see the YouTube video of Kobe being stuffed at the buzzer...only to see the ball change trajectory,as of it had been hit by a bullet, and win the game. I'll never buy a 2K game again because of that.

To the people who actually answered my question thank you.

I just had a game where I hit my 72nd home run against the Colorado Rockies, then Ubaldo Jimenez hit 73 straight home runs all in that same game.

Man, how you people hit so many homeruns. I had 57 with Uggla with 3 to go and so desperately wanted to get in the 60 HR club... but I ended up with only 59. LOL.

This is funny... I broke the NL saves record with Kimbell for the Braves with 56 on the second to last day of the regular season and the announcer said I broke the record that had stood since 1990. I was feeling good... then after the regular season ends I check the League Leaders stats and notice the Nationals closer has one more save than me with 57. I was like, "What? Dude I was ahead of him last time I checked a week ago." He must have gotten a save every day since then.

Who did you hit all those home runs with? You are probably slumping because you are thinking about it too much and trying too hard to hit another one.

By the way, I agree with you about NBA 2k12. I was a big fan of the series but last years insane CPU cheating turned me off. Hopefully they fixed that this year but I'm not saying any more on here since this is The Show forum.

Re: Stuck on 71 home runs.

It was my Road to the Show player. I ended up with 73 home runs by the end of the season, league MVP, Triple crown winner, Silver Slugger, Hank Aaron Award...and there might be more that I don't remember. All in all, it was a good season

We lost to the Yankees in game 5 in the series though.

A strange thing happened in that game 5 that concerns me. I was on first with one out and I was toying with the pitcher - leading off and beating his throw back to the base. When the count went to 2-2 I decided I was going to steal 2nd. After all the back and forth - leading off - sliding back, I was in a good rhythm on the controls, so I was surprised to find that on that 2-2 pitch my command to steal didn't work - the controller was dead.

The batter hit a dribbler between the plate and the mound, and I would have easily been safe had I been able to steal. This is reminiscent of the afore mentioned (and horrible) NBA2K12, with its predetermined outcomes.
For me, that is a killer in any sports game. It's saying that regardless of how you perform, the game has already decided who is going to win before you even start playing.

After playing every at bat for 3 seasons, this is the only time I've noticed it in The Show so I may have flubbed up my steal attempt.

Actually, the Show does some times "flub" up steal attempts. It doesn't sound like it happened to you in this instance though. Sometimes if your base running ability is too low, you will either get a bad jump (despite your movement of the stick) or trip and stumble. This is all just a roll of the dice though, not predetermination.

In my 2nd Big League season in my RTTS, Left Fielder for Boston Red Sox, I hit .570 with 135 HR, and 312 RBI. It's quite easy,
Right Hand Batter + Full Power + Fenway Park = 135 HR
