If I throw a lob to a receiver, and a linebacker or even cb is trailing me, they should NEVER be able to stop and jump up to intercept or even deflect the ball. Ever. That's not how a throw works. If they are behind the receiver the only option they have is to run into me and hope it jars the ball loose

Watch at the 1 minute mark, the Megatron catch vs the Chiefs.

See how that defender has no chance at stopping the pass? But in M13 and all the Madden video games, the CB would turn magically jump up and either bat it down or intercept it.

And at the 1:25 mark also against KC. The CB struggles to get near the ball, where in M13 he would certainly intercept it

The best example is at 2:20

He has him beat and there's no possible way the defender could get to the ball first

of course I do. Tell me when I lead a receiver down field, it's even possible for the trajectory of the ball to be low enough for someone trailing me by a yard or 2 to be able to intercept it?

Depends on the QB. I see QBs try to lead guys all the time and either underthrow their man or lob it up too much and give time for the defender to make a play on it. It happens in football.

Not talking about mistakes. I'm talking about seeing the ball get lobbed, leading the receiver with the "usually because I throw up the middle to an open TE" linebacker following a few yards behind magically jump up and deflect or intercept the ball. That's impossible. yes a throwing mistake I can understand, I underthrow all the time when under pressure and hit. But I mean a perfect lob.

Yeah, otherwise man coverage with no help would result in a TD 100% of the time. It's a hard throw to make and a hard catch to make in stride like that.

Then just make accuracy lower for long passes, and receivers don't always catch them, so make drops higher.

And duh, man coverage with no help DOES result in a lot of TD's in real life.

That's why you take such a risk blitzing someone instead of having help over the top in real life.

it is really annoying to say a db that was clearly beaten intepcept a pass. in real life, if a wr have two or three step on a db the end result is always a pass interference or completion.

I do agree that I don't think there should be "AS MANY" interceptions for long passes (especially with QB's such as Aaron Rodgers and RG3 with 87 deep accuracy and 92 throwing power or better) that are lead passes, unless the receiver has slow speed. I have had trouble with the same, but with patience, precision, and protection smart decisions will present themselves.

I have a problem with super defenders maybe I have to adjust sliders but its crazy how feel plays I make because a defender comes out of no where to either swat the ball away or intercept it. It's not even on deep passes either its on mid range passes and short passes also. It's not the QB I'm using either because I'm usually always using Brady.

I think his issue is that he is throwing interceptions and he is not suppose to be throwing interceptions. The game is broken

It's with defenders, with their back turned to the ball, magically jump up like Superman and catch it or bat it away

Yes it's also with the ball not going high enough and dropping down at the last minute like a throw should do.

You come in here and insult my intelligence and knowledge about the game, get everything wrong, show yourself to be ignorant of football, and STILL you sit here throwing insults at me after all that. Oh wait, you think a receiver beating a defender and having a few steps on them results in the defender jumping up and swatting the deep ball away. just like REAL life, huh. Because you "watch football" and I'm just an idiot...

I still see super defenders, just less frequently. For whatever reason (bad luck maybe?) Calvin Johnson has been a victim of super LBs for me, for years now. I know I'm not the best at precision passing, but if I can't throw the ball over a LB to Calvin Johnson who is literally 21 yards down field, then that's a bit odd. Again, it's a lot less frequent though so I do give Madden credit.

One gripe I do have is that the DBs and LBs will make a move to the ball, whereas, the WRs/TEs/RBs will just wait for it to come to them. Offensive players just don't fight for the ball, at all.

To avoid new thread creation I'll add this in. When manually catching a pass (on offense or defense), am I the only one who seems to have an issue of pushing Y (360) but having my players not react? It doesn't happen always, but it's very frustrating when it does. I've had some HUGE incomplete passes/missed INTs because of it.
