This year I cant even get through one season. The CCM games are just different from the quick games. Im hoping that a patch will remedy this. Its so unfortunate that a game could play so differently in a franchise mode.

Madden 13 has run its course
Thought this was the year that I could get multiple seasons in of a MAdden title. Last time I was able to do this was back in the early 2000s.

Well, no news on a patch or what the patch will even do. All that EA has confirmed is that tuner updates will not work. -

Re: Madden 13 has run its course
Actually, this is the first Madden in my years and years of playing (since 2000 as a franchise geek) that I am actually playing every game, just about (maybe sim 2 a season). I'm playing with a crappy team, the Colts, in the 2ne season, and I've been having a good time with some sliders I've been building for myself. I've been having tough games, and losing here and there, because my sliders make it hard to run...but my O-line sucks at run blocking, and my RB (Daniel Thomas) isn;t the best, so its realistic. I did my first draft in madden 13 this year just a couple days ago in the off season, and it was one of the best draft experiences ever, my draft wasn't that good at all, but I got a couple players for my scheme that'll be ready by next year, maybe.
I'm having fun and playing the most I ever have this year. Just have to get a good slider set going for YOU, and not cheese the CPU. At least its been working for me, and I'm a longtime madden franchise player. I was always sick of my team all getting to 88-90+ OVR just for having a good year, I love the XP this year.Comment

Ya I find that hard to being true BUT............they had a tuner option last year but produced ZERO tuner sets. If they produce no tuner sets again this year, then you may be onto something.Comment

Re: Madden 13 has run its course
I just dont get it
I can understand (not really, but ill go with it) leaving out stuff like a transactions log, or making it impossible to get to the player card, having a broken awards section in player card, have legacy issues, countless errors, etc. I can deal with those not being fixed.
but for these people to play this game, claim to play CCM before its even out, I just dont buy it. at all. because If I was at that company, Id have been fired before I let that CPU run game in ccm go to release. then to let it pass by the first major patch, I dont get it, I never will
because of the cpu's run game being SO bad, where I can run DL out of the way and they still run the other direction, I sadly cant play anymore. I win every ccm vs the comp by 40 points.360-Chiefs-)Comment

Re: Madden 13 has run its course
I agree, I bought the game about a week after it came out and actually loved the whole ccm system and thought the xp progression and scouting were very cool.
However I just CANNOT get this game to play a good game of football. I tried and tried to have fun with it but gameplay is so terrible that I would end up shutting my system off halfway through each game or just simming so I could scout and progress.
Its bugs the hell out of me that I'm playing the CPU and it has the playcalling and rushing brain of a 2 year old..
However I am in a 32 team online ccm and I have been having a lot of fun in that, I just hope it keeps up and people play their games.Comment

No, I cannot deal with that. What kind of society do we live in where we pay for 3/4 of a product? In my business, if I did something like that, i'd be fired and/or reprimanded.
But this company is dealing with millions. So losing a few thousand won't hurt them since this football thing is proprietary to them. Madden has a cult like following which won't deter consumers as easilyComment

Re: Madden 13 has run its course
After reading the numerous threads/reviews, seems to me this game is only good for A) online, provided you don't play against a cheeser, and B) Play Now games.
Being an offline only franchise guy, I'll pass.Comment

Re: Madden 13 has run its course
Forgot one, online private CCM is currently better than offline CCM. I haven't had a disconnect and play realistic games so far, plus, it's received server side updates.Comment

Re: Madden 13 has run its course
The problem with that is that servers are not 100% stable. If you live in an apt, be prepared for drop of connection. Also if you have multiple connections, you have to go about disconnecting the other devices. If you have a microwave nearby your router, be prepared for drops.
All this is ok for online FPS games, but when you're playing Madden and there's no automatic save feature, you're SOL when you're disconnected, leaving you restless and unmotivated to play the same game.Comment

Re: Madden 13 has run its course
With all due respect....who keeps their router anywhere near a microwave? Why would the cable that runs into the house/apartment run through the kitchen? Seems like a good way to ruin any sensitive electronic device. The problem with that is that servers are not 100% stable. If you live in an apt, be prepared for drop of connection. The point about online drops is valid, although I've played 10 games in my full CCM including preseason and haven't really had any connection problems to speak of, including vs. someone who lives in Taiwan! That just seemed like a really strange way to make the point, though.
Edit: Oh wait, I did have one game that had to be restarted twice, but that was because the other guy lost power entirely. Doesn't really count, but I just wanted full disclosure.Last edited by bcruise; 09-29-2012, 07:20 PM.Comment
