If you love 2K11...Is this the year you....

    Pick up 2K13.

I say this because a new control scheme alone can give you a different experience.

I never played a lick of 2K12. So I have no idea what that game was like.

All I know is I am still playing and loving 2K11. The game IMO is one of the finest sports games and best basketball game ever to grace a console.

Is 2K13 a true jump from 2K11. Plain and simple.

I am a offline Association guy. No online at all.

    Thoughts, comments.

Yeah Im a football guy first and foremost but 2k11 and Jordan sucked me in....Played with MKHarsh's rosters all last year and was really looking forward to this year..........

but Im taking a pause.....It looks like the community may not be able to hex edit and create some the great files we had since 2k11

Plus even if they do get it figured out....we can't turn auto-save off...which anyone who has played with our communities rosters knows is a big deal because it probably will crash associations

Wtf would you not have the ability to turn off auto save? Is that glitch or by design?

I hope so. I didn't play 2K12 more than a trial. The suction made the game unplayable for me. I need a new b-ball game. There's really no way I can play 2K11 for another year. I'm actually surprised I enjoyed it as long as I did.

            no, 2k11 is still better

still can't change jerseys in OA,
Trade Vetoing is back (most annoying part of that OA was people vetoing trades and it taking 24 hrs.)
Can't rejoin if you leave lg.

That is a huge disappointment. Especially the trading part. What is 2k thinking. Admins should be deciding whether the trade is to be approved or not. Not every person in the league. Damn

I'll take your word for it, 2K11 is my favorite basketball game and 2K12 didn't meet my expectations.

sorry but that stuff is small pickins. really lame reasons to say 2k11 is better than 2k13.

actually it's not small picksin at all.

How does 2k explain not addressing such a big issue as in being able for us to change what jersey we want to wear? When it's so simple.

now the trading system is so stupid, unbelievably un-necessary for us to have to wait 24 hrs in real life for one trade to go through in OA. This aint real life nba, i understand they're trying to be realistic, but a huge part of what made 2k10 and 11 leagues extremely fun was being able to trade all the time with people in the league. Us having to wait for so long really ruins the experience, just cause their will be atleast one person in the lg who doesn't like a trade and they decide to veto it.

anyhow, the good thing is though that we have a full flex sched and can reset games. As well as Sliders so i guess their improving and im hoping it will be patched.

if anything, let us see who is vetoing the trades.

thats the thing though. it IS so simple and so small that its not a big deal.

if that is really your tipping point to say 2k11 is better, thats pretty pathetic imo.

I would say so since I'm a huge fan of 2k11 and have been playing the 2k13 demo religiously:wink:

2k13 seems to be a fusion of 2k11 and 2k12 mixed together. You can even go back to playing 2k11 after playing 2k13 because it has a 2k11 feel to it.

This doesn't answer your question, but I think you should check out 2k12 some time too man, Yea, alot of people have gripes about it, and some are understandable, but there's alot of goodness to be found in that game.

Especially with some tweaks, and good rosters.

I'm with you though, 2k11 was my favorite, as far as organic gameplay is concerned, the animations and feel are just nice.

With that being said I still haven't gotten a crack at 2k13 yet.

You have a great slider set, by the way. I tried them with 2k11.

Anyways, I'm an offline Association guy mostly as well. I'm probably going to get it and maybe on Tuesday. A true jump? I probably won't know till I get the game. I hope so. I have Xbox Live Silver so I didn't play the demo.

I never played 2k12 either. I did download the demo for it a few weeks ago. It was okay. I wasn't awestruck by it or anything.

Anyhow, as much as I love 2k11, I don't think I can make it to 2k14 by playing 2k11 for another year. Or even Black Friday where I could probably shave off $20 from the price tag. I just need something different at this point.

I was a little intrigued by 2k12 because I wanted to try the new post game and play calling system. But I read the stuff on here about the CPU not double teaming and I couldn't pull the trigger. I know that's not a big deal to a lot of other people but it was for me. And now I read that double teams are back, I'm a little bit excited.

I've also played 2k11 enough that I started to notice some little things I didn't like. Like if you go in the post up position and do a pump fake (LT+RS) by itself, the CPU never bites on those. I've also got a bit tired of getting to call only 4 plays per player while you're in the game. Also, if I read this correctly about 2k12 (I'm assuming it's the same with 2k13), plays go with players. Like in Association Mode in 2k11, if somebody in your starting lineup gets injured, or there's a trade, or you want to change your starting lineup to boost player morale all of a sudden plays don't go with the player they were originally intended for. Yes you could switch the plays in the playbook around to compensate but that's just a pain.

And I know there are probably going to be somethings I don't like about 2k13 as well but since I get to try a new post game, a new play calling system, and new isomotion controls with 2k13 which would all be new experiences for me I think that in itself would override any minor problems I have with the game. At least I hope so. I won't know for sure until I get the game.
