Number 00?
I'm in my seventh year as a CCM QB, and I've noticed that there are four players (all LBs) in my league who wear #00. Oddly enough, on the roster screen they are listed as #0. So I started a new league as a linebacker to see if I could get #00 and, sadly, I couldn't get it. Any similar experiences?Tags: None -
Re: Number 00?
No, the NFL outlawed #0 and #00 in 1972. You're right, Otto did wear #00, though. The last player (as far as I know) to wear #00 was Ken Burrough, a receiver for the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. I think he retired about 1979 or '80.Comment

Good guess. I suspect you may be right. In any event, it's pretty cool. When I download the patch, I'm not changing them.Comment

Re: Number 00?
I wonder what a team in Real Life would do if that happened? Presumably they'd be allowed to use a number in the 70s or something.Comment

Re: Number 00?
In real life, the linebackers would indeed wear 40s if all 50s and 90s are taken. 60s and 70s are almost always for linemen, unless you've got a 4-3 DE that becomes a 3-4 OLB (Aaron Kampman, who wore #74 in both roles).
As for the game, I think it's funny that, if you play a CCM player as Otto Graham, you get #60. You'd think he'd get #14. (He wore both numbers, but #14 was retired in his honor.)Comment
