    Infinity Engine Good or Bad

Here are a couple of crazy plays with the infinity engine and is this the start for the next gen football games and should this physics engine stay in the game?

I think with any new engine, there are going to be issues. As time goes on and the development team get used to the engine and the way it works it should iron the bugs out. The people who thought it was going to have little bugs in its 1st year are naive

Good except the penalties are broken, especially pass interference. Blocking is broken, and other small issues like players tripping over each other far too often.

Without a doubt the IE is good, imo, but it lacks the animations to utilize its full potential. Those plays you showed in the video would all be much better IF the game had animations where players extending their arms when making contacting with teammates instead of just banging into each other like balls on a pool table. Also if player movement was consistently more realistic to denote proper change of direction.

Those two things alone would make IE seem far better than it currently does. When they first announced that the IE would be calculating physics into existing animations, many people wondered why that would be done without adding more transitional animations to compliment the new tech.

I want to believe they will flesh it out more next year but given EA TIburon's track record, it's definitely not a given. It may very well be on to the next marquee announcement for M14, whatever that may be, while IE is left as is or as they liked to say "tuned".

All I can say is I was very impressed with the animations and smoothness thereof with NCAA 13, and felt Madden's comparatively were quite wonky, with unrealistic body collapses and tackles and just a comparative lack of smoothness.

            Feels like regression to me.

I had the opposite feeling. Couldn't go back to NCAA because the players never felt right. Who cares what the looks are, you feel no weight of a player in NCAA. It's unrealistic

All I look at it as at this point is potential. There are things that irritate me now, that could be shored up later. I know we get tired of hearing that especially with respect to this game.

Also no half sacks, no real group tackles, no assisted tackle stats. This engine needs work. I wish they would release some patches to make M13 better rather than us "trusting" they will fix it for M14
