What to do after the shot?
Recently I've noticed myself just standing there watching the ball either make or miss whenever I take a shot from mid-long range. I was just wondering what you guys do... I'm trying to remind myself to either run in for rebound help or get back on defense once the shot goes up, it's great if my bigs grab the board and I can just pass it back out, but if that doesn't happen, it's an easy two points if the other guy chucks it down court once he gets itTags: None -

That's easy.
Once the shot goes off, change to whoever is near the basket and "BOX OUT", READY TO JUMP.. ESPECIALLY ON A CONTESTED SHOT!
Though many a time I started backing off knowing that the shot I just made would go in, and they usually do!

This really depends from where the shot was taken and how the floor balance is. If you take a shot above the freethrow line, you should get back on defense, because normally you're one of two players in the back court. As a big or if there are already 2 players in the backcourt go for the rebound. This also depends on how good you can rebound and if the opposing team likes to run.Comment
