I was playing NCAA Football 13 yesterday and what do you know... the game froze at half time... again. So I got online and was doing some research on what it takes to modify a 360 game. I already knew the basics but I wanted to get into more detail for how to create mods, not just use mods other people have made.
First and foremost a JTAGed 360 is required for modded games and they are not allowed on Xbox Live. I'm not going to outline how to JTAG your 360 on here. Actually I'm not 100% familiar with the process and won't be doing it to a 360 until I am confident that I/we have created mods for NCAA 13 that will work.
Next you must have an image file of the game you want to mod. Then you can extract the Xbox 360 files using wx360, xbox 360 iso extract, Xbox Backup creator depending on the style of the disc. Xbox Backup Creator was the only one of those 3 that worked for me to extract the game files for NCAA 13. Now you have the default.xex file (360 executable file).
This file can be imported into IDA Pro to modify the game. I got it imported into IDA. (Note: You need to have a few different plugins to import a .xex file). This is about all I can do on my end though as I am not a computer programer and don't understand the different languages.
Personally I'd like to see changes to dynasty where you could have another league going at the same time... possibly FCS in the same game. But with game file open to us there are tons of possible mods.
So is anyone interested in creating game mods for NCAA 13?
