Talking to media before games in CM?

This is probably something that's been answered here before but does the "talk to media" thing before games have any impact on the actual game? I'm talking about the 3 or 4 days before the match where you can choose to talk smack or praise the other teams coach/players.

I never did it before but last night after 4 failed attempts in a row to beat Manchester United with QPR I chose to praise ferguson before the match. The result was an orgasmic 3-0 win at old trafford. The next game was man C, I chose to unerve balotelli and the result was 2-0 for me. I was 1-7 vs these teams last season, what gives?

Yes? I don't think the mechanics of this are documented, so it's hard to know exactly what is going on but SOMETHING is affected. It sucks not knowing what though.

One time I was playing Arsenal, and in the few matches before an FA cup match Arteta's form started to drop. A couple days before the cup game I chose the 'motivate player' dialog. Arteta got uppity that I singled him out and requested a transfer.... Talk about motivation!

I've always felt it affected the outcomes in Fifa 12, and so far it has in Fifa 13 too.

I'm not exactly sure what happens when you unnerve the other team, but I know praising or motivating your players helps their "morale" - although how much is a total mystery.
