Seems to me that it doesn't make a difference. Guys are constantly draining shots in my eye when I'm right in their grill with a hand up. I don't have any #'s to back up my claim, but it just feels like the CPU makes an awful lot of contested J's where I should have been rewarded for playing good, tight on-ball defense.

Disagree, although I have yet to turn the level up from pro. If my players contest the shot the cpu shot percent goes down. Now sometime I am put through the buzz saw by the new abilities but thats what super stars do. I am tring to get the lock down ability which nullifies all offensive abilities of my opponent.

Disagree. As long as you stay close to the shooter, and get that hands up or auto contest defense right up on who you are guarding their percentages will go down.

Disagree highly. I've gotten block shots with the auto-contest & it's helped me close on shooters.

At least on pro difficulty on mycareer, I find that it helps out a bunch. They miss a lot more jump shots if I get a hand in their face, and sometimes I even get auto-contest blocks if I'm close enough when the shooter takes the shot.

Disagree. I play a center for the Warriors on HOF difficulty and it has helped me contest many shots in the post. Our team is currently the best defensive team. Inorite?

disagree. i just recently discovered/started using the contest feature and it def. impacts the jump shooters.

brb everyone in this thread plays on PRO or is talking about myplayer. I've seen it plenty of times when the CPU pulls up for a jumpshot in the paint and it's contested and goes in. I play mostly coach mode though and even seen it in a few my human vs CPU games which is not on PRO but all star. When I put my hands up it doesn't go in all the time but most of the time it does or I'm getting bumped out of the way when it should be called a charge.

I just recently turned it on for all shots since I stopped using Auto-D (feels like the Cpu os just blowing past me on All-star) and it does help I've noticed they are missing alot more. You gotta realize Pros do make contested shots guys loll

Add me to the disagree poll too, I love that they added this feature, helps me from jumping for shot fakes knowing that the auto-contest will at least help me contest a shot when someone is shooting the ball.

I play on All Star/Sim and All Star/Default.

and in mode I play on Auto Contest/ Intense D works fantastic for me. The CPU isn't going to miss every contested shot, nor should they....there's a great balance IMO...nowhere near the frustrations of 2k12.

it doesn't have zero effect but it doesn't have nearly as much effect as if you were manually contesting the shot yourself. at least this is my experience playing on superstar/simulation
