blocks and no contact being called fouls

This is really starting to bug me. I was just playing a game online against a Heat cheeser. I played as the Lakers because thats my squad, but I run a legit offense so dont call me a cheeser

Anyways its the 3rd quarter and he's up by 2 points because he just keeps passing the ball in the paint and even though Dwight and Pau and Metta are there, he still can score easily because of the pro settings.

But he goes up for a hook shot with bosh, Pau blocks the **** out of it. And guess what happens? Its called a foul. There was NO body contact and Pau hand didnt even go through the ball and hit his hand, Pau's hand hit the ball then went back. And this was a HUGE possesion because I ended up losing by 1 point.

This has been happening ever since 2k13 has been released. Fouls being called when there is no contact whatsoever!

FOR ****S SAKE 2K, FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!

    FOULS, FOULS, FOULS!

The way 2K did fouls this year is terrible!

Most fouls are canned animations regardless if there is contact with the shooter.

I see so many clean blocks called a foul or defenders is standing with the aggressive button playing defense and the canned animation happens and the defender jumps up into the shooter.

When the CPU wants to score and you play good defense you get fouls called.
    True bout my business, Mane!

      No surprise.

It's already conclusive that contact/blocks are broke this year.

Yep, i've noticed the same problem. Even with shooting foul sliders turned down for me and the computer. Definitely needs to be addressed. I knew i wasn't the only one who noticed this.

          1. Fouls are drawn rarely/at the wrong times (aka when they aren't supposed to be called, and they aren't drawn when they're supposed to).

          2. Contact in general. Too much morphing/ghost players/non-solid object ball/etc.

          3. Forcefields. You get a forcefield-like sensation when you're trying to defend/body down players resulting in points they shouldn't making and contact being detracted from the shot.

          4. Players ignoring defenders presence causing easier shots. I don't know why this occurs.

Like I said, contact/blocking plain doesn't work this year. Please tell me 2k didn't do this on purpose to appeal to the casuals. Because if so that was a completely bad idea. This seems more like an arcade game now.

Please 2k, just patch the game already. You should be more than aware of all the issues by now. Yall ruined what could have potentially been a revolutionary game. "Best sports game ever invented" my foot.

Also, the animations this year are terrible. Too many animations.

This wouldn't be as much of a problem if there weren't really bad ones like the new right stick defense mechanism animation, and when you're running towards defenders while trying to block a shot and your body just dives in midair. Then you get stuck in the animation/your player recovering for excess amounts of time.

Re: blocks and no contact being called fouls

When a patch comes out, I want to see them make it more difficult to score from mid/3pt/under the rim and make it so that more fouls are called, because to be honest there aren't enough. If a player shoots 5FTs in one game on 5 minute quarters, it's basically equivalent to like...20 FTs in real life. Foul calls need to go up.

Note that on defense that if you are pressing a bunch of buttons during a contact layup more than likely it will be a foul. Try to just remain stagnat through the animation and a foul more than not won't be called.

Come on... there's no rhyme or reason to this ****.

Everyone has complained about the leaning layup. That **** is garbage... "I'M RUNNING TO THE PAINT WIDE OPEN, OH, GUY SPRINTS LIGHT SPEED TO GET IN FRONT OF ME, ARGGHHH HOP STEP... ARRGGGGHHH LEANER?!?!"

                    it's complete bull****.

Re: blocks and no contact being called fouls

When 2KSports dropped the patch that heightened the trajectory of passes on 2K12, that highlighted the beginning of bad times.

The OP & Stalkerxx have made it nearly impossible to provide any original sentiments, because I share those exact feelings. It's mind boggling to see the transition of game logic, and game physics, from 2K11 until now. The long, ill-advised passes are seeing as much success as ever before, and to support the forcefield notion, if you're behind a player who is about to receive a long pass, and you try to defend it by swatting it, you get drawn further apart, which further strengthens the chances of the offensive player scoring.

Underneath the basket on defense, and you're trying to prevent a pass to an offensive player underneath the basket as well? Good luck. We're now hit with a game catering to offense & casuals for the 2nd straight year.

It's so disappointing to know that if a player like Mario Chalmers goes up for a dunk in a crowd, I can only hope that the ball rims out, because if it doesn't, no matter how many players contest it, the dunk will be completed.

I expect flukey things to occur occasionally, rarely rather, but this types of plays are a CONSTANT with this current product and it certainly justifies 2KSports not having the "Simulation" tag on their box covers.

I get called for a foul most of the time either way. I somewhat often encounter people who do nothing but run to the paint and just try to go up, usually with point guards, sometimes I'll cut them off so they're stuck in the paint and have nobody to pass to. So I'll just stand in front of them with a big and not press anything, and they'll just force up a shot. Foul. I can't believe how much the game bails out cheesy play.

It's silly anyway, pressing buttons while making contact with a offensive player in the paint shouldn't result in foul unless you are allowed to alter the animation. There's specific animations you can't break and attempt to block someone, so why should it matter if I press 'Y' during it if the animation stays the exact same as if I didn't press 'Y'?

Blocking and protecting the rim defense is truly terrible in 2k13.
An inside defensive presence is pretty much non existent.

The animations are too blame. How many times have you experienced being in good position to block a shot, you press the block button but it doesnt respond because the offensive player is going through his animation, and for some crazy stupid reason, the defensive players attempt is delayed and ends up not even being challenged.

Its a real shame because 2k11's shot blocking and presence was excellent. there was a real defensive presence inside.
There is no balance. the offense has a clear advantage in the paint in 2k13.

I get more blocks on the perimater using pgs than "eraser" sig skill bigs protecting the rim.
                              Tsk...tsk... 2K.
When! this gets patched then 2k13 could be the greatest bball sim of all time.
