Why so many Broken Tackles
i have noticed that no matter what slider set i use on here that there are way too many broken tackles in this game. I look to get the most realistic gameplay as possible in madden as possible , but not matter what slider set i use the CPU seems to get way too many broken tackles. anybody else feel the same way? post your thoughts and ideas on how to tame this downTags: None -
Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
I'm VERY curious as to why this hasn't been more of a topic of discussion...
Since the latest patch, the CPU on ANY setting above zero leads to an absurd amount of broken tackles...
Starters should have a few per game, not a few per play... -
Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
I noticed this also, it usually takes about 2-3 guys to tackle someone, and it had taken 5 a few times, which is beyond ridiculous.Los Angeles Lakers, Las Vegas Golden Knights, Atlanta Falcons

Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
I haven't had any issues with broken tackles in my CCM. I've got my Tackling at 50 and the CPU Break Tackle at 95 and their RB's consistently break about 3-4 a game.Comment

Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
I've seen the same. Even middling RB's like Pierre Thomas keep bouncing off two or three direct hits from my LBs. I'm getting at least two broken/bounced off tackles on probably nine out of ten running plays. Hell, even some QBs I've given a DIRECT hit to from a full speed DE just roll off of it like they're getting tackled by a ten year old.
And yet my RB gets tackled by his own linemen...CubsTitansSouthern MissMan UtdComment

Is the problem sliderable (possible to correct with a slider adjustment)?Comment

Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
Online or offline?
What level?
Thanks!
I'll be curious to see what Deuce comes back with...
As far as my experience:
I only see it disappear with the CPU BTK set to 0...with the USER TAK set at zero, you see a few "brick wall" tackles, where the CPU player gets touched or glanced at and he falls down...
It's the only trade off I have got so far...
Low TRK guys like Ahmad Bradshaw were "Heisman-ing" their way to the end zone with it set on 1, with a USER TAK of 10...
So, I'm personally having a hard time to get the "physics" of tackling to look and work good since the patch...
Hopefully, there's some good input on this to come!

Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
I remember Michael Vick breaking off two tackles at once in my CCM game for a TD.

Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
Depending on the number of touches, I would say 4 per game is a lot.
Last season, McCoy broke 50 tackles on 321 touches, about 1 tackle per 6 touches. That works out to about 3 per game. He was the league leader. Some guys like Gore or Benson didn't even break one tackle every other game. They are the "fall forward" types that still gain yards while still being tackled.
So if EVERY running back is breaking 3-4 per game, that's too many.Last edited by KBLover; 10-30-2012, 11:02 AM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
I zero'd out both HUM / CPU BTK and TCK sliders and the "problem" went away...
(HUM) CLE Richardson has a high STR and TRK rating, but he too had 2 broken tackles on 22 attempts...
(CPU) NYG Bradshaw doesn't have the "power back" attributes, and he also broke 2 tackles on 26 attempts...
The backups had random 1 or so between them for each team and the QBs broke 0...
It looked and felt right, as well as being (as KBLover pointed out), statistically accurate...
I would assume this will continue, so it's THANKFULLY "case closed" for this guy...

Re: Why so many Broken Tackles
I'm on PS3 and have NO problems saving sliders outside of CCM in "My Madden" (save to your profile) or in online / offline CCM...
Online saves them automatically and offline you save them with your CCM in the "More" menu under "My Carrer" / "Save My Career" or by simply hitting the pause button, which will take you into a save CCM function...Comment
