I like both teams so I just hope for good baseball. Was not a fan of either LCS in terms of specific games. Sure the NLCS went 7 but all the games were worthless.Comment

Go Giants... I'd rather eat a rattlesnake than root for the Tigers (which I would have had to if the NL equivalent to the Yankees had won that series
)

Re: 2012 World Series: San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers
You mean G1, G5, and maybe 1-2 innings of relief in G7?
I don't think there's any scenario in which the Tigers will start Verlander on 3 days' rest, barring rainout weirdness.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Assuming half the Giants don't catch cold/flu as a result of tonight's downpour, I'll pick SF in 6.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: 2012 World Series: San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers
Why wouldn't they let Verlander pitch on 3 days rest? Granted, a pitcher of his type would probably fatigue very quickly in that scenario i'd still want to go with my ace.
Anywho I have the Tigers in 6 so it's a moot point.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2012 World Series: San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers
1. Because this question was asked a million times (at least) during last year's postseason, and Leyland's answer was always a variation of "Verlander's never pitched on 3 days' rest, I'm not going to pitch him on 3 days' rest". And he didn't.
2. Because of the relative shakiness of Detroit's bullpen, Leyland will likely (and wisely) ride Verlander hard in his starts.
3. There are no holes in the Tigers' rotation at the moment. If Scherzer or Sanchez had struggled in their previous playoff starts, then yes, Verlander in Game 4 would merit serious consideration. But both have pitched well.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that.
