Unexpected Free Agents in CCM?
 

Has anyone else experienced having unexpected Free Agents in CCM? Guys you wouldn't expect at all to be there

After the draft in my first year I found (to my surprise) Percy Harvin (88 Overall) just sitting there. I had to sign him, just too good of a talent to pass up.

On a side note- what routes/plays work best for Harvin? Screens?

Broncos signed Marcell Dareius (sp?) from FA (I guess I missed him) that same FA I picked up Chris Clemmons (90 some OVR) and Chris Canty, nice DT.

My DT disappeared. No announcment, not listed in the "HOF" anywhere is points though he had a great career and a few Superbowl wins.

I have experienced this fairly often. I feel like I can fill in my weaknesses with stud players during FA as a result. I also experience unexpected free agents during pre-season when cut days are happening. I picked up Champ Bailey and Brandon Marshall because they were both cut.

Just a note, this did not happen in one year, it happened over multiple seasons and multiple CCM's. The Marshall cut happened a few years into my CCM. There have been other times some players have been cut, I recall a Giants pass rusher, JPP or Osi. I did not pick them up because I felt dirty doing so. I only took the other two because they filled a need on my team.

Haloti Ngata was a free agent after the draft which made 0 sense. Had to sign him though even though he was expensive.

As long as they aren't franchise players, it is sort of realistic. I mean, Percy Harvin wouldn't happen, but there are good free agents pretty often in real life.

The Packers released 87 OVR Freddy Yates (a draft generated wide receiver) after two seasons for seemingly no reason. He was way higher rated than Randall Cobb or James Jones.

I picked him up and traded for a high first round draft pick next year since my receiving core already includes Brandon Marshall, Aarin Carroll, and Alshon Jeffrey.

I've seen this, nabbed a 26 year old 86 OVR WR about ten years into my CCM, with Superstar dev.
