Update 1.02 and Career Mode Impact ?

God I love this game so much ... but my first transfer window is about to close and when the 10 hours are done and I go to my emails it always freezes ... like music stops and everything. I have tried about 8 times, even deleted the update 1.02 and reinstall and still nothing.

Question for others in career who are able to play several seasons so far without a freeze ... did you guys RESTART your career mode once the 1.02 update came out ? I know the 1.02 update was partially geared towards fixing the freezing issues in career mode but I still am experiencing them so I thought maybe the patch only takes effect when starting a new career mode.

Please someone give me some good news here !! I am heart broken !!!!

I'd like some clarification also. I was experiencing career mode freezes on a save I started pre-patch, but upon deleting my Gameface data from my HDD the freezing ceased immediately. I thought the latest patch was supposed to correct exactly this issue, but yet it didn't.

I wish EA would give more details regarding the patch, and if you have to restart career mode for the "effects" to work.

Yeah .... well I guess there is only 1 way to find out ... start a new career and hope it works out.

I started a career post patch, it literally freezes every 10 seconds. The patch did nothing it seems.

Okay ... has anyone tried deleting the 1.02 update and then not downloading when the loading the game again ? Maybe 1.02 isn't playable and until a new update comes out we could play without it ???

I'm on 360, started a brand new career mode with the latest roster a couple of days ago. Post patch. I've passed the first transfer window and purchased a player with no freezes. In total I've had zero freezes since I bought the game. I will continue to update as my CM progresses.

I've had it before during Deadline Day where if I back out of menus and hit O (PS3) before the main menu screen loads completely all of the buttons on my controller stop working except Select.

The game isn't frozen, the music's still going, I just can't do anything because suddenly pressing buttons does nothing.

I actually had this freeze during the 2nd half of one of my CM games, Havre vs. Dijon I believe it was. Went to the menu to make a sub, game locked up.

The bar was still moving, music was playing... controller was just locked up. Tried turning it on and off to no avail. Had to boot back to the dashboard and reload Fifa.

For the record, that was only my 2nd or 3rd freeze and first during a game.

Strange... mine STOPPED freezing after the last patch, but would almost every time I started a career before.

Anyone see this yet? I am playing my second to last game of the first season and at about the 25 minutes mark, the game (as I do a throw in) just freezes completely. No buttons, no music, nothing. Have to press down the button on the PS3 itself to turn it off because nothing else works. Then have to go through the scan and everything like that. Try again - same thing. Freezes mid-first half in the middle of gameplay.

If this means my career mode is shot, I may have to just sell the game to get it out of my house and never play again. Total joke from a total joke of a company who I hope at some point in the near future goes bankrupt.

Haven't had that happen yet on Fifa *crosses fingers* but I think you can cancel out of the scan because Madden was doing that a lot on my system.

I don't know if it still does it as I've adjusted, but mine used to freeze if I'd wait too long to take a quick throw. The second my player would drop the ball and the game would try to transition, it would freeze. Every time.

So maybe that was your issue? If so, you have no choice but to just blindly throw it in quick every time, turnovers be damned.

Try forfeiting the match and take a 0-3 loss.
