Okay, Question, What Exactly Does It Take To Crack The Starting Lineup?

In my MyPlayer I'm in my third season (Thanks to the glitch where it sims the rest of the season after the AS game happened in my second season) and I'm STILL the sixth man!

I want to know exactly what do you need to do to make the lineup? Is it an overall thing? Popularity? Performance? Because the only thing the SF starting in my place has over me is the overall. It wasn't an overall thing ever before.

    What's the deal?

Talk to the gm, request starting minutes.

Man you could've done that in game 10, year 1. Ya boy is too passive lol

I've done that at least 5 times already. He always says "talk to coach". When I tell him coach is doing a bad job he's like "whatever." I've been on three teams so far and it's always the same answer and nothing happens.

Ugh I've only started three games. That was in my first season, when I was on the Mavs, Vince Carter got injured. I dropped 40 in each game, all triple doubles, and when VC was cleared to play I went back to the bench and went from 38 mins to 29 in the rotation. It's bogus.

Demand a trade if you not married to the team you're on.

I have a SG and was drafted by Houston. Half way through the season I still wasn't getting the minutes I wanted so I demanded a trade. Asked for recommendations and I picked Portland (Bring back the Sonics!) and then a couple of teams that had interest in me.

I simmed until my next Key game but was traded before then and got on Portland as a starter.

Before you demand a trade, look through the teams and see which teams are hurting at the position you are and then use those as your choices for a trade.

Does this glitch happen if you have the All-Star Break DLC or even if you just have the regular "Rising Stars Challenge" & "All-Star Game". I'm already midway through January in MyCareer and I don't want to go through having to regain my starting spot.

I've asked for trades three times already. I was on the mavs, Asked for a trade, went to the rockets. Asked for another later went to the Grizzlies. Asked for another almost immediately and went back to the Rockets -_-

Go to a team where your position is needed badly.

It's not a glitch. I guess common sense is not that common.
OP, get an A+ team grade, don't hog the ball or call for passes, don't turn over, don't take bad shots.
As a small forward try to score a few points, set screens, box out and rebound.
Play the role of your position and get a decent team grade a few games in a row and you will be fine.
Once you're a starter don't play badly, keep playing your position well.
I have NEVER been benched after starting.
I'm a PG and I focus on assists and layups, or fadeaways from close to mid.
It reduces the amount of bad shots and ups my grade as I'm playing my role.

Work your minutes. I don't mind playing from the bench as long I get the minutes I need and try get the starting role; lucky for me, I don't get benched, because T-Mac is the second SG and he's way far off from the starting role.

I... do... that? I'm not a cheeser, most of my games are A+ or A's.

Like, I'm not one of those guys who are like "LOL MY GAI'S LEET EYE SKORE 45 PPG LAWLZ" I'm getting a modest 20PPG 6RPG 4APG, I play my role, I play for the team mate grade, not exactly for stats though I go occasionally get star caliber stats. I've basically done all that has been suggested for me here, before I even made the thread. That's why I was frustrated enough to make the thread.

Okay so... I got traded to the Bulls for Luol Deng. I figure, with Luol gone, I'll def be in the lineup.

                            Nope.

They start Chris Singleton and Sebastian Telfare over me at SF and SG respectively.

So I go to the GM, he actually tells me that he'll call coach and tell him to start me. A month later, no starts. So, I look at what's up with negotiating a contract, and I get an offer that says it's for a starting role. I sign, and the dreaded "Simming offseason" pops up.

I immediately turn off my PS3 because I don't want to lose my 3rd season like I lost my 2nd to the all star glitch.

Jesus man, I love this game, but this is frustrating. And I don't want to wait for a patch to come to the PS3 finally to be able to play my career.

                            What a conundrum.

idk your guys details but it's more about earning minutes then how well you put up big numbers or what your rating is. play well you earn more minutes. earn more minutes then the starter at your position and you start. I had a bad stretch of turning the ball over in a game and had a few minutes taken away and didn't start cause I had fewer minutes then the starter so when I got it back up I started again. go to team>roster>rotation and check your minutes. getting triple doubles and 40ppg aren't what this starting system seems to work on. minutes.
