When do players decide to retire?
 

Well, the topic says it. You can buy the coach skill to decrease the chance of players retiring, but does anyone know, when players actually make the decision? I was resigning Sheldon Brown to a 5 year contract, but in the end he still retired. In another game, he rejected the offer and played on. Scott Fujita sometimes calls it quits after a season, sometimes he resigns.

Has anyone figured out, when players make that decision, so I might save/reload the game to get the desired outcome?

It would be good if players announced during the season that it will be their last. Although in real life some players don't announce it until after the season.
It would be good to have a retirement screen after the season like in past games.
I guess you just don't know, and you have to be prepared just in case. Take Peyton for instance. Who knows when he will call it quits. Could be after this season, next or after that.
