2nd Annual Fictional Draft Classes for Bedwards Roster

1/25/13 @ 9:45 AM PST - Dweaver just received approval on his second class. We are at 10 classes strong now, gentlemen - great work for everyone here! Way to rock it this year!

Hello everyone!

This thread is for those interested in:
1) Downloading fictional classes to mesh with Bedwards roster
2) Contributing fictional classes to mesh with the roster
3) Reading up on scouting reports for these fictional players and posting updates on how the rookies are playing in your unique associations


For anyone interested in making a draft class, to ensure it matches up with Bedwards roster, please read his blog post here:

In addition to the blog post, please read these suggested corrections as well:

- Make sure on the VITALS screen that a player's play types make sense for him. For example, if a player is a 3PT shooting ace with poor ball handling, his only play types should be 3PT and maybe MID RANGE. If you see ISOLATION, CUTTER, LOW POST, etc remove them.
- Remember that VERY FEW rookies should have the ISOLATION play type...only give these out to a small handfull of players
- Pay very close attention to the TOUCHES tendency. Remember that Bedwards' roster goes off the player's usage rate (1-30). Most rookies should have TOUCHES between 10-22. If you forget to edit this, your simulation stats will be completely out of whack.
- Pay very close attention to the POTENTIAL rating. Remember to follow this formula:
-->80 POT+ = future all-star
-->75-80 POT = future starter/possible all-star
-->69-74 POT = future role player/starter
-->64-68 POT = future role player (depending on starting OVL)
-->below 64 POT = probable bust
- Be EXTREMELY selective about who you give a POTENTIAL rating of 75 or higher to. These guys WILL usually end up 80 OVL or higher before they retire.

To get your draft class on this page, shoot me a PM with your PSN user name, I'll take a quick look at the class to make sure it's good to go, and then upon approval, I'll throw it up here on this page for everyone to check out. If you'd like to add a scouting report for your players, feel free to post it here as well...if not, no big deal - it's just something that adds to the experience. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or are unsure about anything!

Feel free to post any stories/stats/updates regarding your experience with these rookies. Also, if you have any suggestions for improvement, we're all ears. My intention is to simply provide the very best draft classes we are all capable of by making them as fun as possible. I just ask that you please be constructive in your criticism - the members that have uploaded classes and scouting reports/notes have spent a lot of time on this. Thank you.

6'9 225lbs 19 years old
Future franchise player. Complete package, but needs improvement in outside shooting and rebounding.

James Thomas - Duke - C/PF
6'11 210lbs 20 years old
Strong inside presence, good rebounder, motor, hands. Mediocre defender. Should have good career.

Brandon King - Kentucky - C
6'8 215lbs 19 years old
Inside presence, good passer for a big, elite post D, great rebounder. Low IQ, poor handles. Good upside.

Oscar Paul - North Texas - SF
6'8 220lbs 20 years old
Good defender and rebounder, excellent finisher. Can't create own shot off dribble, no low post presence, poor passer.

Antonio De La Cruz - Spain - PF/C
6'11 235lbs 19 years old
Excellent inside game, solid rebounder. Avg defender at best, not very athletic.

Julian Perry - Arizona - PG/SG
6'6 200lbs 19 years old
Good offensive player, good passer with quicks. High IQ but poor on ball D and poor rebounder for 6'6"

Jacob Reese - North Carolina - PF/SF
6'8 206lbs 21 years old
Good rebounder, high motor, good hands. No post game yet

Abe N'Diaye - Purdue - C
7'2 260lbs 19 years old
Big body. High IQ for a young big, elite rebounder. Not very athletic or a good defender. Fairly one dimesional, no real offensive game outside of close range.

Andre Hansen - Kansas - SF
6'7 239lbs 19 years old
Good rebounder for position, all out hustle player. Poor decision maker, mediocre defender.

Freddy Williams - Georgetown - SF
6'9 200lbs 19 years old
Good outside shooter, can create his own shot. Avg defender, and low IQ.

Damien Tucker - Colorado - SF/PF
6'7 210lbs 21 years old
Strong rebounder for SF, plays above weight.

Stephon Johnson - Iowa - SG/SF
6'3 190lbs 21 years old
Good shooter. Excellent FT shooter - only needs to attack to get to the line.

Dale Spencer - Connecticut - PF/C
6'11 235lbs 22 years old
Good rebounder, can shoot the mid range well. No outside shot. Game may not translate well at NBA level.

Isaac Patterson - Texas- PG
6'1 170lbs 19 years old
High Iq, Good Handles. Possibly the top PG prospect.

Elite Handles, good per D. Poor offensively but will blossom into a nice player given a chance. Could possibly fall into 2nd Rnd but will be an investment for future

Elite rebounder, limited offensively. Will struggle with NBA adjustment.

ELite handles, limited offensively

Average offense, good IQ + handles. Project player, has a Kirilenko-lite vibe.

It's FINALLY that time of year again where we get a fresh release of Beds latest work.

This thread is going to serve as a temporary place holder for the time being for anyone interested to start creating and posting their fictional draft classes here. I'll be updating this front page FREQUENTLY with an FAQ, list of draft classes, scouting reports, etc.

My very first fictional class is being finalized and will be released by the end of the day including an in-depth powerpoint scouting report. Can't wait to see what you guys think!!
