    Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 Review

I’m not a hunter, though I have many friends who are. And while sitting in the cold waiting for an unlucky animal doesn’t appeal to me, the actual hunting part--the self-reliance, careful aiming, stalking prey--does seem exciting.

So it would stand to reason that a hunting video game would be thrilling without the physical and ethical messiness. Enter Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013, the newest in a long line of branded hunting games. Does this game capture the thrill of trailing an animal, carefully aiming your shot, and bagging the big kill?

I guess no one cares about this game. It always looks great, but the one time I played, it just didn't do much for me. Not what I would look for in a hunting game.

I wish there was a good hunting/fishing game.

As for the fishing games, they would be A LOT more fun if the games didn't switch to that "underwater view" showing the lure in action. What they SHOULD do is make the user go through training sessions, where you can then see a lure in action WITHOUT the presence of fish, to make sure the fisherman knows what s/he is doing, THEN let you do your fishing. Ideally you would cast your lure out (or maybe even just a bobber and worm?) and the only view you would have is from the fisherman's perspective. That would add a lot more suspense to the game. It just kills it for me to see my lure in action. Once I see the hook set I'm bored.
