Understanding of CCM off Season tasks

just a quick impression and then Ill need some advice and how to help?

I finally finished my first season.
My impressions is that the offseason tasks are a mess.

first thing Id like to know is how many weeks do I have to sign my free agents, and how can I tell if they actually signed without me having to go to my roster screen?
It seems as though I only had one week to submit offers, and then it went on to the free agent signings.

with the free agents signings-is there a simpler way to figure out a teams needs without having to leave that particular area, and the same could be asked about the draft.

the team needs page which I believe is in the worng location, makes no sense to me. so can some one tell me how to read this page?

and finally same with rookie signings. how do you sign rookies. it seems like its broken.

for team needs:
a simple solution would be to have a simple screen that says -hey you need 2 wr, you need 1 lolb, etc... does that exist some-where?

off season is a mess and I just gave up until I get a good explanation. any explantions would be appreciated

I'm in my first off season also. You can find out who signed with you the next week by hitting RT and scrolling through my negotiations, my signings, available, etc..

I just make a note myself of what positions I really need to focus on and plan on filling backups and such later on. I have an idea of what I want to draft, probably will blow up in my face but oh well, that happens in the NFL right?!

I believe its 2 weeks to sign your own guys that are expiring...then 5 more to sign other FA's. While your trying to sign then next to their name it will say negoiating, signed, or unavailable. If their negotiationg they havent accepted your offer but are willing to listen if you will. Signed means you've signed them, obviously. And unavailable means either you or them has cut off negotiations.

Sadly theres no easy way to view what your needs are durring FA or the draft without backing out...easiset thing is just jot it down. Hopefully they can address that next year.

All your draft picks get signed automaticly. Theres a rookie reserve taken from your available money to pay them(contract depends on round, position etc). Some people found that to be unrealistic, however I find it to be very true to life. Teams almost always sign everyone they draft then get a good look at them in camp/preseason and either keep em or cut em
