99rated PG still not starting.
In MyCareer I'm a starting PG 99 overall for the lakers, in 3 or 4 years in the future. Jared Bayless is starting over me. I downloaded the patch thinking that would help, I played 1 game after I downloaded the patch and still not starting. I only play the key games. and this year I looked up my stats and so far I'm avg 20.0 points a game. How do I get it so I can start?

How many assists per game?
There must be some criteria 2K is using for making you a starter. I think you really need to play all the games to be consistent and get the spot. -

Re: 99rated PG still not starting.
As stated, you need to play the majority of the games each season to maintain a relevant role in the offense. Even if you're stats/overall are through the roof during sim, your team mate grade might not be.
Ex: You can score 40 points and still finish with a "Fair or Poor" game performance based on other decisions made in game.
I don't really see the point in NOT playing the majority of the games, unless you play with a certain teams with A LOT of rivals/relevant games.
I for instance, am a PG for Detroit and we have maybe... 4 key games a season. I couldn't stand not having that control over MyPlayer.
EDIT: Didn't see you played for LA... still though... play more games?Comment

Re: 99rated PG still not starting.
looks like you need to be discussing this with your team's GM lol.
keep pressing the GM for more minutes, bigger part of the offense. if that don't work, try getting the coach fired. u also gotta put up some numbers in a few games so that the coach starts trusting you.Comment

Its a bug, already tested, basically you can score 50, 10,10 but if you take a bad shot and the coaches yell at you once, it don't matter if you finished the game with a A+ rating and the coach says you will get more minutes or a bigger role. That one negative yell overrules everything which is very unrealistic. No one in the NBA will see the Bench averaging 40-10-10 even if they average 6 turnovers a game.
I shouldn't be the leagues MVP, asking the GM for minutesComment

Re: 99rated PG still not starting.
Umm helllllooooooo!!!!!! YOUR A PG!!! You deserve to be benched!!!!
People are quick to point their fingers at bugs but most of you guys who are struggling really need to check yourselves!!..
i really haven't had this problem since my first my career player! i have made 2 careers since and i have not had a problem with starting at all!!
And i find it extremely difficult to piss off my coach, so you must be doing some real dumb **** to get yelled at!! And i alternate between Superstar & HOF difficulty only.
Play the next 10 games straight and if you hit "play key game" make sure you are earning more than the minimum time allowed for starting a game and build it to about 38mins + and only then should you simulate to key gamesComment

Re: 99rated PG still not starting.
It's because you don't play enough games. Your role as a starter is determined by your average teammate grade. If you only play 4 games and sim 78, you won't start because you're not constantly putting up a good teammate grade. Play as many games as it takes for you to get into the starting lineup. If your guy is a 99, you'll get in after like 5-10 games of averaging an A- or higher teammate grade. Once you're a starter, then you can go back to simming everything, they won't take you out as a starter after that.
As for everyone crying about him being a shoot first PG and not passing enough, it really doesn't matter. If he scores as much as he should with a 99 overall, his teammate grade is probably good anyways, which is enough for him to be a starter.Comment
