    Most improved candidates

its early i know but if this award were to be given out now i would give it to serge ibaka, the dude is just ballin at the moment his new mid range jumpshot has just made all the difference for him this season and could be a vital piece to the puzzle of possibly winning a title this year.

Let me know who you think are some candidates this year

Nic Batum would be on my list in addition to the guys already mentioned. Second year guys like Chandler Parsons and Kemba Walker have improved a lot as well.

              Re: Most improved candidates

I may be a little biased and I wouldn't give it to him if the season ended today, but I think by the end of the year Jeff Teague's name will be in the finalists. His 3pt and free throw percentages are up this year significantly and his assists average is on the rise. With Joe Johnson gone he will be running that offense more and more as the season progresses, and Devin Harris' performance so far isn't going to take away any time from Teague. Just my prediction...

If the season ended today I would probably give it to OJ Mayo, not sure if he will sustain the numbers hes produced so far when Dirk finally returns.

Larry Sanders has been balling. 27 blocks in the last 4games. Got a tripple dub & scoring and rebounding well.

                        Re: Most improved candidates

All the nominations thus far have been great. The player I wanted to mention isn't really worth of the award as I notice truly how well all the other players being brought into the discussion are playing. Still, I feel Jason Maxiell deserves some props. I saw a wacky jumpshot or two from him against Cleveland and the game before but prior to that, his 15-18 foot j's have been on the money this year, and he's been surprisingly effective the few times he's operated from the post.

9 points per, 7 boards, and almost 2 blocks a night while shooting 14% better from the line than he did last year and hitting over 51% of his shots from the field? Not most improved, but improved nonetheless.

I think another one could be JJ Redick, he doesn't put up huge numbers, or have the highlight plays so you don't notice his improvement as much. But he really has improved, he's been a legitimate scoring threat for Orlando and has added different aspects to his game. Also averaging slightly over 5 assists per game he's one of their better distributors.
