Week 2 News

New Hampshire No Match For Gray and Gophers 73 - 14

Minneapolis -- The Gophers flexed there FBS muscle against New Hampshire at TCF Bank Stadium this Saturday. In a game that saw the gophers score 49 unanswered points by the end of the first half. Marqueis Gray was once again all over the field and wins player of the game honors going 13/18 130 yards 3 TDs, 10 attempts 67 yards 2 TDs. Max Shortell saw snaps in the second half but it is becoming more clear that Marqueis Gray will be the starting quarterback this season. The Gophers host Western Michigan and their dangerous pass attack at TCF Bank Stadium next Saturday.

Week 3 News

Gophers Can't Hang On As Broncos Steal One At The Bank 31 - 30

Minneapolis -- The Broncos steal one at the Bank. With less than a minute left in the game Tyler Van Tubbergen, replacing injured Alex Carder, through two TDs to get the win for the Broncos. The second TD came after a successful onside kick attempt that left the Gopher defense stunned and giving up the final TD with less than 2 seconds left in the game. The Gophers host Syracuse next Saturday and with conference play starting the following week a win against the Orange will be instrumental in the Gophers quest for a bowl game this season given their difficult conference schedule.

Week 4 News

Minnesota Defeats Syracuse 28 - 17 Improves To 3-1

Minneapolis -- The Gophers were down 14-0 with 25 seconds left in the 1st half when Max Shortell threw the first of 2 TDs on the night. Shortell was a perfect 4/4 36 yards and 2 TDs. The dual threat of Gray and Shortell has proven to be effective this year and had it not been for the defensive collapse against Western Michigan the Gophers would be heading into conference play with a prefect record. The Gophers will travel to Iowa City next week to face the Iowa Hawkeyes for their B1G opener.
