    Best camera angle for batting?

Just looking to try a new camera angle when batting. Any suggestions for a good custom camera angle out there?

Thanks to spit_bubble's thread up there, I've spent the last two years developing this custom camera angle seen in this video:

I mean the game doesn't really give you numbers, but maybe if I can make a reference point for you or something (compare a certain part of a batter with a certain background area, or the strike zone with the pitcher's legs, etc). I might be able to do that for you in a few hours. Otherwise, it's just a matter of taking the original catcher view and simply manipulating it until it seems about the same.

If you can do this I'd appreciate it also, that camera angle looks amazing.

I totally realized after posting that that I've been gone all day, and now am back home with a few people. I might not be able to do this until tomorrow, or like in several hours. Ugh my bad haha.

I used an edited camera that was a bit more zoomed out than catcher. The first pic below is catcher which cuts off right at the edge of the batter's box at the back. There was a zoomed out camera which shows the entire catcher area (last pic). I created something in between (second pic) and that worked best for me personally.

Hey, so I don't know if these help as references for you or not... but look at these strikezones with these two players (Bruce and Rolen) in this ballpark (Miami), and see if you can line things up properly.

Keep in mind that I don't only rotate, but I also pan and zoom.

Sorry for interrupting but I'm chiming in to just say that I'm a big fan of offset cameras. The offset makes it easier for me to time pitch as it needs to travel a bit more than when the pitch just comes straight at you (as in all the centered cameras). They also introduce natural lefty/righty splits...

I can't stand anything but a realistic camera. I put my camera up and into the batter/pitcher cutting off the top of the bat. It makes things a little harder but it is far more realistic than other camera angle. I really wish they would put a default camera in that mimicks how a batter actually sees a pitch!

I do that when playing in 3D. Well, something very close to it at least.

Honestly, I can't play the game any other way anymore. With the PS4 this game is going to be sick with immersion.

I messed around with a slew of different camera angles finally just came back to regular old catcher. Works for me.
