2013 Blue Jays OSFM
It's getting to be that time of year again. I've compiled a list of Blue Jays prospects and their potentials, ETAs, 2013 projected teams, and the like, in an excel spreadsheet that I'll post tomorrow, and everyone can discuss them.
Hope to have a lot of people on board this year."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesTags: None -

Re: 2013 Blue Jays OSFM
AC and I are going to put a ton of work into this puppy this year, I have figured a way to basically copy my CAPS from the Blue Jays I did last year - at least the real accurate faces.
Basically what we need from you guys is a list of players (prospects and minor league fillers) you want to see on the Blue Jays roster. AC has built an incredible database of the system, but because of the retirement issue and too many highly rated prospects we will need fillers and roster fillers also (think of the Shawn Hill, Ricardo Nanita, Danny Pereles types).
Also please continue to put your own ideas for Potentials - it may help solve some arguments on some guys.

Re: 2013 Blue Jays OSFM
Is that Sickels prospect grading? Because if it is, it looks real good.
Mike Benacka and Tony Davis are a couple good fillers.Basically what we need from you guys is a list of players (prospects and minor league fillers) you want to see on the Blue Jays roster. The retirement issue won't be too much of an issue- most of the prospects I have down are actually C prospects, which won't affect retirement of any star players or even many good ones. Maybe an extra scrub a year will retire or something."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 Blue Jays OSFM
I'd argue he was generously rated, given that the only pitching he's done in 4 years or so has been pretty bad.
He's on the 40 man and should be ready for spring, though, so I'm guessing he'll be in the game.
If he isn't, I'd probably go low B as a ceiling, at highest."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

I know it was your opinion, what I meant was, were you using Sickels' rating system of letter grading? Because his letter grades are generally more conservative than most, I've found."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Ahh yes then, I'm pretty conservative and yea he tends to be.Comment

I agree on most, I just think Osuna warrants an A-, at least. That's my only gripe though.
Also, I have Jacob Anderson at a B in Sickels-style grading, and Franklin Barreto at about B-.Last edited by AC; 01-08-2013, 02:59 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 Blue Jays OSFM
Forgot about Barreto, I agree with your ranking.
Osuna is interesting, more polished then a guy like Luis Heredia, but at the same time, the thought on him seems to be he's maxed out and you dont have much more physically for him to build on. He's right on that A-/B+ corner.
Really disagree on Anderson, would go C/C+, stats were atrocious, plate discipline was abysmal and the scouting reports seem to reflect that. Obviously he's only 20 but he was pretty disappointing this year.Comment

Really? I think Osuna's frame could increase a bit. Growth generally stops at 20/21, and he's 17. The guy hits 96 and gets glowing reports.Forgot about Barreto, I agree with your ranking.

I don't think stats below AA really mean much, to be honest. At that point, it's all your eyes and opinion."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 Blue Jays OSFM
Trust me, he's filled out already. The only plausible growth is him getting a little taller, but there isn't any more room on his frame to add strength. He already throws hard so its pretty much a non-issue though...Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment
