Let's make synergy happen
 

Taking an idea that 2K hasn't bothered to take from EA's book, I implemented a "Recommended 2K Ratings" feature in my NBA Stats Tracker application, a basketball statistical analysis tool. What that feature does is that depending on the stats you give it, it calculates as many ratings as it can for you, and can export them to update the Players tab of a Roster, in cooperation with my Roster Editor.

I've been using slimm44's scales to calculate formulas for the objective ratings, and I've contacted B-R.com and Hoopdata.com for permission to use their data, in order to allow the user to automatically download the real stats into an NBA Stats Tracker database, and get all the recommended ratings based on the real NBA stats.

If I do get permission, this pretty much means we can get something similar to EA's Synergy, i.e. daily roster updates with updated ratings and tendencies based on real stats.

You can see how that would work in the video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG-2A...layer_embedded). Note that the Download NBA Stats feature is temporarily disabled pending permission from Basketball-Reference.com to use their data.

I'm in constant contact with slimm44 in order to implement as many of those ratings as possible. If someone else however has well-respected scales/formulas for ratings based on the stats offered by NBA Stats Tracker, I could work with them as well, to add them as an alternative to slimm44-based recommended ratings.

So, any takers?

While his personality is, well, a one of a kind ... Rashidi does know 2ks own default formulas (which not even them follow cosistently, smh) ... an arrangement with him would be more than ideal as an alternative ... just my humild opinion tho.

You should also send him this video and the tutorial one from your tool, as he is a bit "cautious" when talking pc softwares and modern tools ... just to give you a clue, he has most of his work in word formats instead of excell.

Hopefully, something can come along ... eitherway, basketball reference, THANKS for all your contributions to the 2k & OS community !

@ Leftos - Is it possible to set a statistical minimum for players so the guys who play a few minutes and have wild statistical averages for that time don't become league leaders without outlandish ratings, ie Dexter Pittman? As of now, he would be the best rebounder in the league because he grabbed 7 rebounds in 12 minutes.
