I mean really? Does a switch in TV really change the degree of timing that much? Can someone explain the science behind why a larger TV changes the pitch speed/difficulty? Has anyone else noticed a change from one TV to another?

Hitting Correlated with TV Type/Size
OK, so can someone explain this too me? I recently purchased a new TV and my hitting has gone to complete #$@^%. I've played an entire RTTS season on a 37 inch Panasonic Plasma TV and my hitting was ~.300 with only 58 strikeouts in ~300 AB. I recently purchased a new 55 inch Samsung TV and all of a sudden my timing is late. I'm only hitting .160 and am average a strikeout every 2 AB.

Does your new tv have a game mode option? You should have that on.
Also, here is a thread that may pertain to your situation:

Is your new Samsung an LED by chance?OK, so can someone explain this too me? I recently purchased a new TV and my hitting has gone to complete #$@^%. It's not the size difference, it's the display. Plasma TV's have zero input/response lag unlike LCD & LED TV's that are plagued with it and the main reason I'm selling my old 46 inch Samsung LCD for a 51 inch Samsung plasma
And yes I have game mode on alreadyLast edited by DodgerFanatic2K3; 01-14-2013, 01:58 PM.Comment

Yea it's LED. Game mode seems to help, but I couldn't believe the timing difference between the ol' plasma and LED. I was early if anything on plasma and late on everything on LED.Is your new Samsung an LED by chance?

Re: Hitting Correlated with TV Type/Size
It really needs to happen, because my buddies big 42" Samsung DOES NOT have a Game mode, so he can no longer even play The Show, and will likely not buy any future editions until his TV breaks.Comment

Re: Hitting Correlated with TV Type/Size
Yep even with game mode on for me I'm still late and find myself check swinging at an alarming rate because of the lag on LCDComment

I have the same issue, I don't necessarily have the extra money to purchase a new TV solely for the use of a video game.Comment

Re: Hitting Correlated with TV Type/Size
That is not correct. Plasma tv's have input lag just not as sever as Samsung LED,LCDIs your new Samsung an LED by chance?

Turn game mode on even if it degrades the picture quality. What game mode does is turn off all the processing that the tv does to make the picture look that nice which causes the lag.
Unless your tv is from the stone age it should have a game mode or hyper drive mode
If its a samsung then connect to HDMI 1 and rename it PC which should enable entertainment mode which is game modeComment

Re: Hitting Correlated with TV Type/Size
I picked up a 47" Vizio 60hz from Wally a couple of years ago. No game mode on this TV but I am not really seeing a problem with lag and the tech on this TV is probably at least 4 years old.Comment

Re: Hitting Correlated with TV Type/Size
I'm assuming playing video games on plasma TVs isn't as harmful as it used to be?
I have my PS3 hooked up to an LED TV and I use my plasma strictly for TV and movie watching.Comment
