    Defensive Position?

Hey all. I play a lot with my friend(on the same team), and he's usually a safety.

I'm torn between MLB and CB.

Just wanted to know what your guys' favorite positions are and why.
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed"

    Re: Defensive Position?

Honestly, MLB is probably the best position to play as far as being effective goes. CB would be very difficult to play as you would be playing off screen a lot unless you play the nickel.

I play FS 100% of the time. I find it to be the most fun. There is nothing like playing your deep zone and reading the routes then jumping the routes and getting a pick.

I have been playing as a 4-3 ROLB since the Bill Walsh days. Nothing else feels right to me. Tuff Bronco FTW!

No matter what team I am using i always use the best player in the front 7. I Also dabble a little bit with the safety which is probably the best position to be but can also be a costly player to be if you are not at a certain skill level. The safety is almost never picked up in the blocking scheme which can allow you to blow up runnings plays or blitz the QB. good luck bro

I'm usually the RE or DT in a 4-3 defense. I prefer getting after the QB to playing coverage, especially in user games.

DLineman, or a blitzing/spying LB. I'm bad at coverage...

I like to play as one of the ILB in any odd front. (3-4) 3-3-5 oakie, 3-2-6. I feel i am not penalized too much for being too aggressive against the run.

I usually control an interior D lineman, but if I'm playing vs dual threat QB that likes to scramble when I have good coverage, then I usually control a DE and pull him back a little to spy.

I usually play as a LE or DT. Getting pressure on the QB is the best method of ensuring a good defense IMO.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I usually play the MLB in a 4-3, but I'll often switch to one of the OLBs in two cases: 1) my OLBs suck and are guarding a stud TE; 2) the OLBs are covering the HB against a team or formation where a screen play is likely. I hate getting burned by screens, so I tend to play a LB who isn't guarding the TE to sniff out and cover the screens.

HB screens are really easy to spot so it's better to control a guy not covering the HB and then jump him as soon as you notice the screen.

True, but I also have fun wreaking havoc by playing zone against crossing routes and slants if the HB stays in the backfield. It's something I seem to do better than the CPU for some reason.

Anyone else find that when they move from D-line to MLB, the D-line ends up with more sacks? Maybe I just suck at playing the line...

I play as the RE because they are extremely ineffective if the AI is in control. Even if it's an impact player like J. Clowney from USC.

Unless they fixed the terrible camera angles for the secondary, which I don't believe they did, go with MLB.

MLB is probably the best position to play on defense in the game from the camera angles they give you.
