Madden 14 on XBOX 720?
I've heard that Madden 14 will be released for XBOX 720 / PS4 when those systems come out later this year. Do you guys think it's gonna be built on an entirely new engine? Or just a continuation from Madden 13?
I REALLY hope they start fresh on the new generation systems.Tags: None -
Re: Madden 14 on XBOX 720?
I don't.
On the PS2/Xbox, the Madden series was finally getting good and they had loads of features.
Then they release a stripped down, "graphically pretty" Madden 06 on the 360 and it sucked. It took until now to finally get some of the features back up to speed. Starting over again would suck.
The last generation of Madden still has more/better features than '13. It really is sad. -

They've already stated they are not starting over. They learned their lesson. Now whether that is a good or bad thing, well we'll see. I just hope the opportunity arises for someone else to be able to make an NFL game. Wishful thinking at this point, but we'll see with that as well.Comment

Re: Madden 14 on XBOX 720?
I'll be hoping to see IE get configured. Would be nice for the players to actually play like they have bones and muscles and injuries implemented on that. Would also love to see more realistic movement. Changing directions shouldn't be so quick and they should plant their feet. The juke animation is horrible and needs to be fixed. With stiff arm, you should be able to hold onto the defenders jersey or helmet for as long as you hold the stiff arm button. The zone coverage needs to be fixed. They should only let a reciever go out once they leave their zone if another defender picks him up. I'm tired of seeing Safeties let them go on streaks and LBs letting them go on drags and outs.
I don't expect much from features. Just fix the CCM bugs and make the CPU logic on managing players better. A little color and shader adjustments to the graphics and I'd be happy. It looks cartoonish to me compare to '12.Comment

Re: Madden 14 on XBOX 720?
I am so desperate for a NFL game I can enjoy, that I actually hope M14 is on new consoles. If so, I will move mountains to get a new gaming console, like I did with Dreamcast and Xbox 360, just to play a hopefully different type football game.Comment

They started over but with basically the same coding as ps2's games when it came to blocking, etc.I don't.

EA needs to start over, this code is old, tired, boring, and unrealistic now. In 8 years, they were never able to capture the magic they had when they used it on ps2. Why should we accept this for the only NFL game in town on the newest most powerful consoles yet?Comment

Re: Madden 14 on XBOX 720?
Let's not kid ourselves. As long as this development team is making the only NFL football game, it will continue to be crap. It's been crap for 8 years. There is nothing that is going to suddenly change things. The only hope would be for someone else to be able to make a game again. Madden is always going to be "Madden" as opposed to realistic football.Comment

Say madden 14 was released on the new consoles, it would probably be a stripped down version like madden 06.Comment

Re: Madden 14 on XBOX 720?
Console gamers frustrated that their Xbox isn’t holding up well compared to high-end gaming PCs can relax a bit, because it looks like the next-generation Xbox is going to be a monster. It seems that website VGleaks has gotten ahold of leaked specifications for the Xbox 720, which it says will include an 8-core 1.6GHz processor, 8GB of RAM, an 800MHz graphics processor, a 50GB 6x Blu-ray Disc drive, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The leaked specifications are in line with previous rumors that also gave the next-generation Xbox an 8-core processor and 8GB of RAM, so there’s nothing overly surprising about VGleaks‘ report. The Xbox 720 will likely be announced at the E3 gaming convention this June and will be released
Read that ^^^^
Too lazy to quote you lol.
Edit: It's supposedly going to be 350$ according to Yahoo.Comment
