Something just as bad as the "DB Glitch"

Dont get me wrong the DB glitch is bad, but I think there is something just as worse in this game that has been in longer that is not getting as much attention

    Its the OL/DL interaction.

Think about it, most of the complaints with this game derive from OL/DL interaction

The way the option is poorly executed(read option is better but still could use a little work)

Whenever the Human QB tries to step up in the pocket, the Defensive tackles with automatically disengage from their blocks to make the sacks.

The Human defensive line is nerfed for the Human player eg anytime you try to conduct a power move with your DE, he gets thrown on the ground or taken out of the play.

I barley see "chop blocks" from the Human Offense.

Its a nightmare more times than not running out of the pistol offense

I hardly use the Playaction just due to the fact 90% of the time it will result in a sack.

Sliders cant fix this problem. You can go to the slider forum and see 5 or 6 different slider sets with the OL/DL sliders varying from set to set. There is no general consensus on what values should be because nobody knows whats going on under the hood. If anything sliders make the problem worse.

Games are won and lost in the trenches. With that being said, it is imperative that the EA team addresses the issues with the OL/DL.

This is not a EA bash session. I am simply addressing an issue with the game that I believe that hasn't gotten much exposure to the OS community

I understand that people might not agree with me, but if you have an issue with what I said please be respectful.

    I'm assuming that you're talking about NCAA'13:

I can step up in the pocket just fine. I've only seen the DL disengage from their blocks if I hit the sprint button.

This is a timing issue. This mainly only ever happens if you try to do a move before you've actually engaged the O-lineman. If you're engaged, then the PMV and FMV works nicely.

I run almost exclusively from the SG, but I do have 4 pistol formations and those are my "power running formations" as I almost never get stopped for a loss and have the potential for some really big gains from the pistol.

This was an issue in past games, but in NCAA'13, PA passes can be crazy effective. I almost never get sacked on them and entirely too often the LBs bite on the fake, leaving receivers wide open. While I vastly prefer this year's PA passes to previous games' I'd argue that their a little (not a lot) too effective in '13.

Agreed on a lot of this. I want to feel like my Oline is out muscling the Dline.

You do know you can cancel the playaction animation right? It's either RT or LT or R2 or L2 when the QB is handing it back.

This is true but it only gives you just enough time to just throw the ball away and avoid a sack.

I get sacked on less than 10% of play action passes.

I use a lot of two tight end sets and power running and with that the obvious PA and PA read ,i rarely get sacked even if i have 4 wrs set , but its all about how you set them up.

I have a problem with DL(human)/OL(CPU) Interaction i cant disengage like i would like but thats my problem i think.

Re: Something just as bad as the "DB Glitch"

People love throwing in stats from a USER perspective but that just jades everything. Most of the issues in this game stem from the flawed CPU AI and how USER controlled teams are able to exploit these flaws on a more consistent basis compared to other sports games. That is why this game fails so miserably.

I probably just ranted and came up with a ridiculous idea that would never work in a video game, but figured I'd throw it out there. Might be more perfect for a text based sim game though.

Only for passing plays. The left/right can be touch and go. It works nicely to slide right when the D is overloaded to the right as it blocks the guys on the right well, but it leaves a gap between the LT and LG (when sliding right and RT/RG when sliding left) which can sometimes allow someone to shoot right through it. I usually only use it on plays with a designed roll out and I always slide to the side of the roll out.
