Double teams are terribly implemented.
Another broken canned animation in this game. Has anyone noticed how terrible the double teams are? It's laughable. I'm playing my career mode and i get doubled constantly. Now i have no problem with it being harder to pass out of the double team, the problem is that when the animation kicks in it like locks your player in place. Even if the double team isn't in good position, not being able to move when there is clearly open space in front of you just because of the animation is stupid. And why the hell is it that you're not allowed to call a timeout when the canimation locks in? Does 2k have ANY concept of how double teams actually work? Apparently not. . .Tags: None -

IDK they're not to bad man, I mean just last night I spun out of one with Kobe, hung them up on a screen from Dwight and took hard to the hoop.
In agreement on the timeout thing, however don't think I've ever even tried to call one during a double though.

It's easy to abuse for one. 7 out if ten times will result in a turnover for the opponent.#1 Laker fan

All you do is press double, come with your hands up, and if you're a tall player they just pass off your hands and turn it over.Comment

Re: Double teams are terribly implemented.
Haven't really run into too many problems with double team abusers online, but last night I entertained this kid with a match for a little bit and the double teams were really powerful. He used the Clippers and set Double Team to "Always" for all my players. When Chris Paul would come with a double against one of my ballhandlers, if I were to escape the double team, Paul would poke the ball loose for a turnover. It happened numerous times. It was strange because there was like a magnetic force to the doubles, I'd see it coming, but couldn't get away if I tried.
Just a rare occasion though.Comment

Re: Double teams are terribly implemented.
Yeah i'm mostly noticing this in My career mode as a point guard. It just makes no sense for me to get stuck in place when the double team is clearly not in position to be effective. It's another canned animation thing.Comment

Increase your offensive awareness and the double teams are rendered benign but you still have to move out of them or your going to get a forced jump ball. Why couldn't this be put in with your last past about my career though it's just as relevant, there's no need to create a new thread every time you want to vent.Comment

Re: Double teams are terribly implemented.
. . .when all of your teammates don't cut behind their man lol. But seriously though, i can get out of the double team and i can get assist out of the double team, but i don't like how the double team works. It's completely unrealistic and robotic/canned. It just looks bad, you know?Comment

I stick by what i said and i noticed you made 2 threads about how terrible things are in this game well then play something else or go watch a movie and cool off in both of these threads it just seems like you lose games and then come on here to tell us how frustrated you are IT'S A GAME some players need to stop picking at every little thing not everything will be perfect. . .when all of your teammates don't cut behind their man lol. In an actual NBA game players will set bad double teams and somebody on the other team hits a easy shot anyways i would suggest you to this thread and tell them what you would like in 2k14

Re: Double teams are terribly implemented.
*sigh* oh look, it's the cliche, "you're just mad that you lost" argument that people throw around when they can't logically discuss why they disagree with a point. If you had read carefully you would of noticed i never said i lost because of it. You're assuming a lot. Why is it that whenever someone complains about valid problems people like you feel the need to resort to saying things along the lines of "you just suck, play something else 2k is da best mane". Some players need to stop being so damn complacent about everything in this game.I stick by what i said and i noticed you made 2 threads about how terrible things are in this game well then play something else or go watch a movie and cool off in both of these threads it just seems like you lose games and then come on here to tell us how frustrated you are IT'S A GAME some players need to stop picking at every little thing not everything will be perfect
This is the last time i feel like saying this: I win most of my games, i know how to play, and i've been playing 2k since it was on dreamcast. It's not just about winning or losing, it's about how the game ACTUALLY PLAYS. Having a realistic game.
If i wanted to, i could have my player averaging 50 some points a game but i refuse to do that because it's unrealistic, you're completely missing the point. I'd advise you to take some of your own advice and tell you to go read a book or something and cool off if reading someone's opinion on the internet that's different than yours frustrates you so much.Last edited by SPRINGS03; 01-28-2013, 02:26 AM.Comment
